Blockchain Gambling - Invest or Gamble?
« on: February 27, 2018, 04:23:35 AM »
I have noticed that there are an increasing number of blockchain based gambling ICOs popping up, all saying they are going to take over the market. Are any of them actually any good for either investing in or gambling on? Anyone with any experience of either? I definitely see the benefits for people gambling on their platforms in terms of transparency and reduced house advantage, but there's just so many of them. Think I've seen about 10 in the last couple of weeks alone, and that's not including ones that are already operating. I invested in one ages ago, not going to bother saying which one, it has done nothing for me, but I didn't invest a lot, so just going to keep it and see - throw the dice I believe the saying goes.

These are the ones I have heard of (some already operating, some in ongoing or upcoming ICO stage)

Wagerr
Gron Digital
Smartbillions
Gamblica
BetterBetting
Funfair
Dao Casino
Herocoin
Sp8de
RealCasino
MindSports
Cash Poker Pro
Peerplays

Are any of these worth investing in (or gambling on), and are there other ones that might be worth a look?

Thanks.

The ones I hold are decent.bet (got this one so cheap off of etherdelta its not even a gamble!(pun) and Funfair.  I kind of like Herocoin but I haven't decided to invest  yet. My feelings when it comes to gambling is the more types of games the site has, the more will participate.. if you goto any sort of casino in Vegas and just look around.. the card games draw the most attention but really where all the money is coming from is people nickel and diming slot machines..  I think too many of these sites focus too much attention one sort of  table/game/machine and don't have enough bells and whistles and variety.

Another coin I'm looking for is an all professional league version of fantasy betting.. a platform that covers all major fantasy sports and esports (for those people as well) asll in one format thats clean, easy to invest in and has provable payouts and is notably fair.

Gambling tokens in this space can make a LOT of money.. but just the fundamental design of them is lacking atleast so far for me.. I think the safest bet is FunFair out of the ones mentioned but definitely check out decent.bet... I think it could be a cheap winner 1-2 years from now... that is if you want to take the "gamble"... okay that was bad  8)

I would lrefer to invest than to gamble. Investing though takes a longer period to earn big, I prefer that to gambling where i am likely to loose all my money within few minutes and hours.

Thanks for the replies, I have been looking more into the different options available and found another one called cloudbet. According to their website, they give a 100% matching sign up bonus (have to bet a certain amount of times to get the bonus, but you get a year to do it, so should be achievable). I think anyone who invests in cryptocurrency has a gambling streak in them anyway, it is not for the fainthearted. I don't tend to gamble too much, but like to take a risk now and again. Huge future in blockchain gambling once it breaks into the mainstream and the more sites there are , the more likely that is to happen. Trust is a huge factor though, and I think if one website had a security issue, it could reflect on the industry as a whole. Over time, there will probably be less than 10 big players in the field and that's when we will see the real potential.
