Why not a 1070 Nvidia card? Isn't it more energy efficient?

It is, probably its bigger brother - 1070 Ti is more efficient but hard to find these days.

I am still looking for few of those. :)

Not succeeded yet.

GPU mining is pretty good stuff. Versatile and I think it will be around for some time still. Hoping... praying!

Mining with a NVidia 980TI and 1080, daily profit (before electricity) using NiceHash are as follows:
980TI, 60% power usage, $1.50-$3.50
1080, 85% power usage, $2.50-$5

Currently we are at the low end of the scale
Portfolio(in mostly descending order): ICX, XRP, REQ, DRGN, APPC, TRX, POLY, NEO, WAVES, KNC, WTC, AION, ELF, CCX, DBC

I'm using gtx 1070 Windforce Gigabyte, with samsung memory and a few pieces with hynix memory. With memory, samsung cards work more stable and give a larger hash rate. Good video cards, quiet and cold cards, do not heat up more than 65 degrees, even with overclocking.

If youre talking mining you're gonna want to probably use a 1080TI since it has the most output per card.. they've been very expensive lately but hopefull prices will continue to drop.  Whatever card you get make sure its new because any card used could have thousands of hours of overclocked mining on it.. or at the very least overclocked gaming.

I have 12 gtx 1060 and I think they are not very profitable on the equihash algo, I prefer to mine eth, because where I live electricity is expensive.

My approximate hashrate is 300-320 sols and with Ethash i got 24 Mh/s

Have you managed to gain a profit from running your rig?
