Ubuntu or Windows for mining ETH ?
-
I do prefer Windows.
-
Ubuntu and Window both are suitable for ETH mining. And performance is same. Mainly depends on processor, Ram and speed of internet.
-
its not important as OS. same hash speed for sure.
-
Linux is the operating system that maximizes the computing power of a computer, especially in the process of mining that does not require a lot of interfaces. So I think Linux is better. You may have heard of BergmannOS, a project from Russia, which is a Linux-based mining operating system.
-
Go with what is more familiar and easier for you. I prefer windows, I never see anyone editing the bios in Linux based OS's such as EthOS or Pimp OS. Windows OS allows mining of almost all coins so its a safe bet always. ;)

Windows 10 and Linux are about the same on their effiiciency (+/- 1-2%). Whatever you choose, make sure you have the latest driver support. And if you choose Windows, make sure it's 10. They have optimizations for drivers that puts them on par with Linux, and older versions of Windows will lag behind significantly.
-
I prefer Ubuntu on my main miner as all the background stuff on windows eats up resources also considering my main miner is technically a server learning Ubuntu is easier then setting up a remote server under Windows for me.
-
Neither, straight up CLI folks. Skim off that desktop environment weight ;)

Only 1-2%? Thats kind of impressive its such little difference.. or how poorly optimized the ubuntu mining software must be.. I would have thought at the very least 10-15% thanks for the heads up.

My vote is ubuntu. I have used it for about 3 months
-
I vote window more uses and faster to mining

Why would you say it's faster? Any CLI should beat a desktop hands down. Less weight.

Windows. I dont have Ubuntu installers. :)
Basically if its only for mining Ubuntu is a better choice. Higher hash rates maybe?
Windows if you want to do other things in your rigs. Maybe remote control, etc...

I prefer Ubuntu:
1. Convenience. High-quality software allows you to remotely control and manage farms, regardless of their physical location.
2. Acceleration equipment. The system makes it possible to easily change the timing of the video card and the frequency of memory and core
3. Simple work with crypto-extraction applications. Just a few mouse clicks to change the working wallet and miner.
Windows in this regard is very far from perfect!

In general, when working with cryptocurrency, I choose Ubuntu. Including for mining ETH. This operating system is more reliable and faster due to the command line.
