Don't listen to all the FUD. In what you invest is all about your investment strategy. Do you want to daytrade? Don't do Bitcoin. Do you want to invest for up to three years? I would argue to invest some part of your portfolio into Bitcoin.
For longer time investments never judge an asset by a snapshot of the price, use rolling averages instead.

my opinion is find an alt coin and  invest that money you want to invest in bitcoin. that coin is foe people who have a lot of money and  dont mind loosing it.
