If you look at charts from past years, you will see similar drop of prices around the middle of January. Some say that this is because people need money after new year. Some say that this is for tax purposes. Some say that this is because of the Chinese new year (February 16). I don't know what it is but I expect to see return to ATH (All time high) at the beginning of March.

Maybe you weren't around when bitcoin used to drop 50% all the time. If you are holding newer coins they will do this. Bots and whales can easily control the price
