Would a sports section be useful?

As the title states, would a sports section be useful? Sports discussions, predictions, contests or whatever could all go in the section, just not sure if people would participate if not being paid to participate ya know? So many different leagues that it could clutter a gambling section if we let it.

Well, I think it can be included in the gambling section. Everything related to sports can be included there, even if people don't talk strictly about betting, like in the soccer threads in Gambling Discussion. Whether it's better that way or to create a separate section I don't know what to tell you.

People aren't always gambling, but most times they likely are. The soccer leagues are part of what i'm talking about as far as clutter, there are like 20 different leagues. It get's a bit ridiculous honestly.

You are right and I think your suggestion is very good and would be very useful if implemented, a section specially dedicated to sports like football would definitely make the gambling discussion board a bit cleaner.

This section might also come under gambling discussion as a child board or something, to strictly separate users discussing sports (like the happenings in football and other forms of sports) from users discussing their betting/gambling experiences and so on.

There is Gambling board in forum already, you just need to create sports topic there and see if there is enough activity.
Compared to bitcointalk forum I think that you would get significantly less activity and genuine conversation, so maybe you need to get some casino promotion first.

I personally like the child board suggestion. You have the silly questions that people spam for gambling discussion, then the sports section for the prediction threads. IMO would be better to have the sections separated, but just 1 opinion.

I created few topics about MMA and other sport related topics and I didnt receive much replies and anyone willing to continue conversation.
Another topic I created and BSFL competition and it had similar results.
Payment for posts is not so important if you dont have anyone interested in this topics.

If some casinos start promoting here then I disagree. When they have the must make x posts in gambling sections, users interests go out the window. They just start posting in any thread in gambling to get their quota.

I do agree that without casinos promoting it might be a wasted idea.

Paying for such discussions will make them something related to profit rather than a nice activity. I suggest that you create a tracking topic about it in the general discussion, such as WO in Bitcoin Tack, and followers can predict the course of events away from the gambling sections or pay to participate.

If some casinos start promoting here then I disagree. When they have the must make x posts in gambling sections, users interests go out the window. They just start posting in any thread in gambling to get their quota.

I dont like promotional campaigns that force people to write minimum amount of posts, and there are other ways of advertising in forum.
Better to have several players who are active in different sports, formula one, boxing, mma, football, nba, and have someone to talk with.
If I dont have anyone to talk with It feels like I am writing a blog

Man, that's reply that very few were expecting, ah, so much rumor in a post. Yeah, I think you're right ball is basically egg-shaped but I have noticed that the ball of volleyball is round in shape.

To OP, I think sports section should be very useful for those people who're interested in sportsbook or for the ones who basically want to discuss about sports events.

In short , in order to be total pricks, the US decided to call rugby football and football soccer! 
God be blessed they stopped before calling basketball handball and handball hanteer or something!

They are way better when it comes to women football, they still lead the way with 4 world cup trophies (out of 9).
