I think it is also good to have some alternative of ETH because if there are no alternatives the ETH demand will be high and they will demand high cost, as well as the platform, will be slow due to the heavy transaction and also there will be no competition.

I think altcoins future will be great and not all of it will be grow which it will replace by other potential coins.

There will be two types of scenario.
First which is more adopters and we can see eth value to rise as it is the no 2 crypto after bitcoin but there is also possibilities that other blockchain like stellar will take over eth.
Secondly if the crypto adopters become lesser which might be due to government rules and regulation or too many scams that scare the users away we might see eth value to a new low.
For now i choose to stand in the middle before proceed on my decision.

I think It depends what you want to do. If you want long term investment you can choose ethereum and bitcoin. I personally prefer short term,So I prefer Ripple.

I think that raising more altcoins will lead to price fluctuations due to many competitions. its veru disadvantageous because the coins are getting more and more and values less and less

Altcoins will be more popular in the future and for me if there will be more altcoins there always be a high competitions in the market that for me it is good for us. Competitions is in favors to us because the innovations is high and by that we can choose easily the best altcoins that has more potential to stay and rise high at the market.
