Title: I just sent LTC to a BTC address! Halp!
Post by: bosshyip on July 15, 2018, 08:43:46 PM
I accidentally sent some LTC from BTC-E exchange to my BTC address on a different website.
I'm in limbo right now, my funds aren't showing up anywhere. Don't tell me they can be spent cross-currency like this!?

Hi, how are you?
Please, describe with more details.
Which site was that and how did you do that?
I didn't face such thing, but there are a lot of trackers on web, lik etherscan, but you need different one, of course.
And web-site which is different makes me a bit nervous, because it might be a scam.

Generally when mistakes like this are made the tokens are lost forever.  I hope that's not the case here, but you may want to brace yourself for the loss unfortunately. =(

Alas :(
yeah, the dark side of crypto is this. If you make a mistake, the whole responsibility lays on your shoulders.
Thus everyone needs to be extremely cautious with crypto assets.

Nothing to do without sitting back mate. You should have to be more careful while transferring cryptocurrency. A you that it is not refundable once you have transferred. And also there is no chance to contact with anyone regarding this issue. That is why crypto is called anonymous.

There is no way to retrieve your LTC mate, it will be in the poll for all time, and I think you should free yourself now from it.

Its really hard for us to recover erroneous transactions in crypto so we should be careful in doing transaction most especially if it involves money because its too risky.

I think that mistake has no chance anymore to resolve the situation and your crypto is in the pool forever. No way to take it back to you.

Sorry for your loss, I've made this mistake in the past and it sucks, but all you can really do is learn from it.  For security purposes its setup so that if transaction goes through, its permanent.. I wish it could detect an address that couldn't possibly be bitcoin and reject it, but its just not in the tech.  All I can say is check 2-5 times to make sure in the future, and hopefully the amount wasn't a huge transaction.
