Title: Lightning Network subfourm
Post by: Husires on January 24, 2024, 12:30:14 PM
I don't know if anyone has suggested this before or if there are enough topics, but since there are many subfourms, creating a subfourm for the Lightning Network would be a positive thing, and I'm sure there is a lot of content, so I don't think there will be a problem in creating new topics. The discussions there may be of high quality (if a good manager is chosen) and thus Lightning Network subfourm will be among the best Lightning Network fourm.

LN subforum under Bitcoin or Litecoin? What do you prefer? Maybe it's better if it's a main board with at least two sub-boards for bitcoin LN and Litecoin LN topics.

It's rarely discussed here but that could change with the arrival teleported members. As I searched for topics, there's only one page that appeared and a lot of them were posted on local boards.

Under Bitcoin, it is true that there may not be a lot of discussions, but it will be useful as many subfourm will be closed. In return, a section for the Lightning Network will be good, especially since there is no section dedicated to it in most forums.

Are you using Lightning Network?
I dont use it and I dont know anyone who is using it often.
I tried some wallets but I think it is complicated for most people, and I am sure this wont be the best Lightning Network fourm or forum ;D

Are you using Lightning Network?
Yes, it is not a new topic and with the current high Bitcoin fees, it may be good to try it. If you do not have an open channel, you can try downloading https://phoenix.acinq.co/. The fees are very low and you will need to pay on-chain fees only when you want to withdrawal to your wallet, so it is a good solution when Fees are high.

There are no complications, download the wallet, save seeds, receive transactions directly, and as long as you use it with small amounts , you will not have problems.

Bitcoin Forum --> https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=18.0
  -Bitcoin Mining --> https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=152.0
  -Bitcoin Lightning Network --> bla bla bla link

You mean you want a subforum like that, right?
Or where do you want it?

You are a smart person when it comes to Bitcoin Mining, I'm sure your application was accepted by the Admin because you are an expert in Bitcoin Mining.
This will also be a difficult topic because the Miner members have intelligence above the average of the others.
Welcome to altcoinstalks,we hope that your knowledge will continue to be shared in this forum. 8)

I will take a look, but is there no Phoenix wallet or some other lightning wallet available for computers?
All wallets I saw before worked only for mobile and I needed to have them connected with bitcoin node that I dont have.

The philosophy of the Lightning Network is that you use it to make daily payments to buy a cup of coffee or your daily needs and not for big deals like buying car.
The focus on mobile apps comes because we carry our phones everywhere and mostly use them for payments.

for desktop use electrum

I think that's good.

Do I need to run my own bitcoin node with electrum desktop wallet to use lightning?
I know mobile wallets are much easier to use but I dont like installing so many apps and updating all the time if I dont use them every day.

LND discontinued support for Litecoin. The most recent update in the Litecoin section of 1ML, which was 9 months ago, shows that there was only 95 public nodes with 170 channels and $2400 in capacity. 1ML shows that Bitrefill had 21 LTC capacity, so I'm assuming they accepted Lightning on LTC at some point or at least considered it, but their node has been offline for 3 years. It seems Lightning on LTC is basically dead.
