You can try it mate, convert your BTC in to waves. But don't you convert all, because altcoin is unpredictable. You can buy ripple, litecoin too. They are also good for long term investment. You will get profit when the bull run.

I see many people prefer hold for long term investment, But I personally don't like it.
I prefer Invers in short term and do daily trading. It is more profitable.

waves is a good potential coin and its price is low in these days its good time to buy and hold its for long time which will give you good profit in future but i will be advice you don't  invest all your money money in single coin
