Basic Questions about Cryptos / Re: How to do basic research?
« on: January 16, 2024, 03:19:33 AM »
You can try to search for the background of the developers.  Check their tokenomics or the designed economics for their coins.  The validity of the road map and see whether the developer has the ability to make it to reality.  Do not be hyped by the promises of the project after all it is only just a promise, what matters is knowing whether the developers have the ability or not.

It is good to ask them a direct question but never rely on their answers because they can always butter up their responses, there have been many cases like this where the project developer is so good at their talking but in the end, they are unable to deliver.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Bitcoin Dump Signifcant After Halving

What do you think, will you still continue to buy Bitcoin?

Why not?  Bitcoin is known to surge months after the halving, even though Bitcoin market may goes sideways right after the halving event, its history shows that Bitcoin records its ATH months after the halving.

-Will you continue to HodL Bitcoin?

If I am able I would love to hodl Bitcoin, there is more profit the longer we hodl it and wait for numerous Bitcoin halvings.

-If you saw the price of Bitcoin drop significantly to 22,400 USD, how would you feel?

It is normal, Bitcoin is highly volatile market, anything can happen but we seen that Bitcoin is able to recover and eventually make new records of ATH.

-What prayer did you say when Bitcoin touched the price of 22,400 USD?

Nothing...

Bitcoin Forum / Re: DO NOT OVERPAY your Bitcoin transaction fees.
« on: January 15, 2024, 02:42:03 PM »
That's some funny story right there. Sender cannot wait for the next ~10 mins and keeps on pushing his transaction with multiple RBFs. He must be in a real rush (like his wife about to discover his hidden BTC) to be in panic like that ;D He doesn't appear to be a newbie since a lot of new users don't even know how to RBF so it could be some technical error on his end.
Bumping transaction fee multiple times with Replace-by-Fee is not too bad, but of course it costs more.

The worse is using Child Pay For Parents multiple times, it will lead to more expensive fees than RBF and more complicated situations if so many CPFP transactions are still in Pending.

For anyone who don't know to use RBF

In addition, RBF does not charge a fresh amount of fee, it will only add the amount you wanted to add from your previous fee like when we originally sent 5k satoshi for the transaction fee and we bumped it to 10k satoshi fee,  it will only charge an additional 5k satoshi from the balance since the original tx fee is yet to be picked up or spent.  So doing multiple RBFs isn't as satoshi-consuming as we thought, the latest tx fee is the only fee we have to pay.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: HOW TO IMPROVE PSYCHOLOGY IN TRADING
« on: December 27, 2023, 02:33:48 AM »
It is important to know when to stop trading to keep a healthy mindset.

If trading is the major source of income, the person won't stop trading.  It is best to say to cut losses by simply implementing a cut loss strategy wherein a person set-up a selling price to reduce losses when the market is plummeting.

Sometimes... we can get too catch up in the excitement of the market and keep trading even when we are tired or not thinking clearly.

This is only applicable to newbies I think, because those who have experience never go with their excitement, they always study the pros and cons of investing and trading stuff.

This is one good suggestion from Investopedia

Knowledge and Experience in the Marketplace
Individuals who attempt to day-trade without an understanding of market fundamentals often lose money. A working knowledge of technical analysis and chart reading is a good start. But without a deep understanding of the market and its unique risks, charts can be deceiving.

Do your due diligence and understand the particular ins and outs of the products you trade.

ICO is a story of the past, currently new projects have many ways to reach investors: IDO on Launchpads or IEO on CEXs. These two ways are both better for investors because their team and project have been verified and evaluated by a reputable third party such as Launchpad or CEX.
Investors in the crypto market have also become more alert, they often only invest a small portion of their capital in new projects, most will invest in tokens with transparent products and teams.

This kind of collection falls under crowdfunding and crowdfunding is still very effective in amassing funds for certain project specially a new project that have good presentation, and promising road map together with the popular or known developer in their industries.  There maybe different kind of approach on how they conduct their crowdfunding but the concept is still the same.

I agree with @OP that profit projected during the crowdfuding can't be assured by any projects unless the project developer uses the funds wisely to improve their project popularity and development.  There had been lots of record where those who participate in crowdfunding had either lose their funds due to developers running away or ending up with worthless token due to the project being dead even before it is listed on exchanges.
