Ethereum might go higher level than it's previous state as London Hardfork or EIP 1559 is knocking at the door which is a major FA for ethereum. Not only this, market was on correction mode as bitcoin dumped a lot in May. But bitcoin started to surge again and market will follow it. As a result, eth will rebound to it's previous state or more than that and probably, it will create another ATH soon. ;)

London hardfork helps a lot for the rebounding of ethereum in the past two weeks. Well, I think gas fee is depending on the price of ethereum As you said, if ethereum price goes up, we will see the higher gas fee.
