Is it really best this way?

Just something I noticed from the very first day I joined here.

Having been in few forums, I noticed that, immediately one gets to make a post on this forum, your taken right out of the thread rather than been given the chance to have a quick glance of what post you just made. Like, you only get to view your post should you click right back into the thread. This applies to you starting a thread of your own or making comments on a thread.

Truth is, after making a post, be it thread or comment, we as humans often tends to go through it very quickly when we have the time to see if it was as intended and to spot errors. Though by the design we’ve got now, it’s just a click away but, I would suggest it not to have been so.

Suggestion;
The forum by design should be in such a way that, it presents you with your most recent post after posting rather than taking you out of the thread, only to click and get back in. That’s not a very appreciated function.

If it matters to anyone, I’ll like to hear your thoughts and home the admin here see if there is any validity to necessitate some changes.

Oh wow!

Never knew it was a subject to modification issue. Anyway, I just did the modification and the result on this post would tell me if it worked as intended.

I would have liked it though should it be the default settings and not just the one about hiding messages from ignored users if, many users would need this set up in the end.

This is something several users have also complained about in the past, I myself included, I have a thread on this same topic or issue.

And to say the least, nothing annoyed me more back then when after making a post, I get returned back to the board page instead of being returned to my post in the same thread, It was annoying because I usually like to sometimes, re-read what I've posted or commented just incase there are errors to correct.

And like jokers have shared above, I; through the thread I created on this issue discovered that this can be changed through the forums settings in a user profile, but I am still of the opinion that the admin should make the "return to topic after posting" the default setting for every users joining the forum, because if this is not done, we will keep seeing threads of this same complaint from different users from time to time.

Until the time one has specified this issue in the ALTT chat as we are teleported users, we used to have this setting on the other forum. That's why it is being requested and then to our surprise, the setting in our profile can be modified.

We are suggesting they make changes because we used to use a different system on the other forum. However, we should understand that each forum has its own way/system of operating. I guess every member who has been teleported from the Bitcointalk will feel the change. But since it is in the setting and you can change it whenever you want, there is nothing to do for the admin.

That's the good part of having this friendly community. You will see how open the admin and even the moderators are to the ideas that are suggested by teleported users. There's no discrimination or what, there are ideas that the admin thinks of as a helpful feature to improve this forum, and there are some that were denied. But the good thing is, that the brainstorming of ideas still continues, and we continue to help each other to have a better community and more features that will be helpful to everyone in this forum.

Exactly this. I noticed months ago the admin was frustrated about people making suggestions to implement something that he did not like. If I am not wrong, it was about reassembling the boards. Admin prefers to keep the earning boards on the top, while other members suggested that he move those boards to the middle of the page or the bottom of the page.

Probably, the admin didn't like it, and he was kind of frustrated. This is true that we cannot expect the admin to make it look like how we want it. We did not designed the other forum. We got used to it because we have spend time there. We have to do the same here and we will get used to it as well.

Op there is no need to redesign the forum again and the features you asked for is already existing from two ways. You can set it from your profile as others have instructed you what to do or you can do it at the bottom of any comment you are making. At the bottom of the comment box, you will see "Attachments and other options" click on it and you see "Return to this topic" and click the button then post the comments or thread then you will see your post and if there is any error, you can click modify to edit the post and save it back again.
