If you're playing with some loose change, you probably wouldn't care even if you do it on a weekly basis.
If you're playing with larger amount, it's a no-brainer that it will affect you mentally on some level.

Gambling is usually played as a form of entertainment. But nowadays many people want to adopt it as a means of earning money.
I would argue that many gamblers are entertained from winning (earning money). I think there are only a few people who would remain happy after losing thousands of dollars.

Truly, cessation of gambling specifically for gambling addicts can lead to withdrawal symptoms and psychological distress and this affects the gambler`s mental health. These withdrawal symptoms can manifest in depression, continuous graving to gamble, anxiety, and sometimes restlessness.

It can even become a problem for a gambler who is using gambling as a coping mechanism. If a gambler does not address the underlying issues that led to their gambling addiction, it becomes difficult to abstain and may experience worsening of their mental health as a result.

Well yeah if a gambler still has an urge to gamble even though he already has stopped then he or she might suffer confusion, hallucination and other emotions that might encourage 'em to go back into it. Refraining from such activities in a sudden way is like an impact of a bus running fast and then suddenly stepping fully on the brakes will make a disastrous effect on the passengers inside. Things don't need to be done in rush as we have the choice to do it slowly for a much better results.

This is why there's a risk if newbies experience early winning streaks on the first day they bet or gamble, they will try to duplicate their early wins on their succeeding bets and it will be very disappointing if they do not reach it, so they will try to add more funds to their bankroll, extend their playing hours and explore methods on how they can duplicate their early wins and this is where the addiction started and this is where anxiety and disappointment sets in, it will be too late to find out that there's no guaranty of winning in gambling, the house will always beat you.

From a very ancient time, people played gambling in different categories, and with time it changed from a source of income to just for entertainment. People do gambling when they get bored and want to spend some time they go through gambling but now people are changing their mood again and making it a source of income. It's good to do entertainment as well as earn money but the problem is people can't control their desires related to gambling and want more and more money and chasing this they face a huge loss. So if they can control their emotions then I consider gambling is a good source of income. If you have an addiction then this will disturb your mind as well as your family's peace and will be very difficult to control the situation.

Gambling definitely affects a person mentally. Whenever a person uses gambling as a means of earning money outside of entertainment, he will be psychologically affected. So you should always gamble while maintaining your personality, never give your all to gamble. Especially among us, sometimes when we gamble regularly and win, it becomes very difficult to stop gambling in between. Sometimes when the gambling budget runs out, we develop a different mentality towards gambling. Overall, gambling can definitely affect a person psychologically. Conflicts between brothers due to gambling Gambling causes trouble between husband and wife. So this gambling game should never be emotionally draining and gambling should always be used as entertainment.

losing money will always affect individuals.  you don't have to example dopamine in the brain but someone who accidentally lost money and will think of recovering it.
the gambler himself will also do the same by doubling down of his bets.

stopping the addiction abruptly may not be possible since his mind is not ready for it. he will still have the itch to get back whenever he has money or the opportunity to come back. i'm not  sure of mental health since this is not a drug addiction.

However, in reality, most gamblers actually gamble not only for fun but also to make money. They will get their own satisfaction when they play gambling and earn money. even though what happens is that it will be very difficult to get money and profits from gambling. Moreover, if you are addicted to gambling then it is not just about fun but it is a satisfaction in itself if you have taken it out on gambling

For those who are addicted to gambling, it seems difficult if they have to stop gambling suddenly.
It takes a process to go through for gamblers to stop suddenly because I'm sure this gambler still wants to continue gambling as if he had lunch every day.
The gambler's mental health will also feel fluctuating because the gambling is done frequently but stops suddenly, but perhaps after getting used to stopping gambling, the gambler's mental health will recover soon.

Gambling is usually played as a pastime by high net worth players and wealthy individuals. A poor gambler does not take it as a pastime rather they try to earn money by gambling. Gambling is like a drug that will make you addicted when you can't quit gambling so keep it under your control. Gambling constantly gets out of control and you will lose money constantly and at some point you will be broke. That is why a player should not take gambling as entertainment but should take it seriously and gamble responsibly.

Both. Gambling can affect your mental health, especially when you have been gambling for a long time and have lost more than your fair share. Conversely, someone who has mental health problems, especially impulse control problems, or a tendency to impulsive behaviour, can end up in a very bad way if they gamble. In extreme cases this is a fish that bites its own tail, impulsive people who lose a lot with gambling and this causes them to enter a depressive emotional state in which at times they regret it but which triggers their impulsivity even more and they return to gambling losing more and more.

You have a point there mate, gambling does affect our mental health status and i experienced that on my own. That is why i tried to avoid going to physical gambling sites so my gambling activity would be minimized.

Now, i online gamble on sports betting as we I can't avoid gambling abruptly, little by little maybe i will be free from gambling totally but not yet as of this time.

If they gamble irregularly and always want to win gambling even they will always follow defeat, then I can say their mental health should be questioned, because it could be that they are already addicted to gambling.

The problem is that the only one who can know whether they are addicted or not is themselves. Maybe for some people who gamble openly we can already judge that the person is addicted. But for others who gamble secretly and not many people know it is not easy to detect whether they are addicted or not.

I think the more dangerous ones are those who gamble secretly, because of that, other people won't be able to help because they don't know about it. Unlike people who openly gamble.
