Title: Ether Private Key
Post by: Claus on March 19, 2018, 05:25:04 PM
Sharing your Private Key is one of the dangerous things you can do to your ether wallet. Never try and even expose your Private Key. It's very important.

Do not share your private key especially when applying some airdrops many have been scammed because they shared their private key. Always keep in mind that Ethereum is accessed by having your private and public key, you can share your public key but never share your private key.

I have see a situation where a friend of mine mistakenly sent his private key instead of the address and he was doomed. The person drained all his hard earned money and he was down to zero. Never and ever send you private key over the internet. Anytime you are sending it try and crosscheck very well before sending it. Thanks

Better to log in using the JSON file of your MEW to avoid getting victimized by any phising attempt.

Thats what I always use but a situation where people are asked their wallet for some tokens and they rather use their private key is what we talking about

The safest way to login in MEW if you don't have a Ledger or Trezor is to install Metamask as chrome extension and login with Metamask in MEW

As the name is "Private". Of course, it cannot be shared. If you share it, you don't understand the meaning of "Private".  ;D

I had a My Etherium wallet from where the private ones were hacked automatically.  If there is any other reason for this private to be hacked, please let me know in the post.

May be you already put your private keys in open places where someone can access him. Don't keep your private key in any phishing site.

Exactly You are right. The ether wallets that we all have are private key Never share with anyone.Because the private key acts as the guardian of your wallet. If your wallet is lost, if you have the private key to that wallet, you can find that wallet But if someone else knows the private key of the wallet, then your wallet is likely to be hacked. So the private key can never be shared with anyone

I generally do not store my private keys from wallets in any electronic devices that are connected to the Internet. One of the safest ways is to keep your private keys on paper. After all, the reason for the loss of our cryptocurrencies in wallets is not only our mistakes, but also hacking of our email addresses. In them, as a rule, we keep information about our various passwords, private keys, hackers are also very actively interested in our backup. If there is a need to store private keys on devices, then it is better to change at least one or several symbols in them beforehand.

actually what you are doing, including for me, is creating its own difficulties even though it is quite safe to do. because if we put it on paper, the fear is, if the paper we use gets hit by something and can't be seen anymore and it will be confusing.

actually if I prefer not to use a private key but save the *.JSON file and put it in a yahoo email address by creating a separate folder and your yahoo email address is connected to an iPhone device which every time you open an email address asking for authorization by just clicking yes on iPhone . this is the safest thing that can be used.

or if you can, the *.JSON file is stored on a flash disk which does seem outdated but is one of the most effective to use because it is more difficult for other people to reach.

why it's good to use *.JSON files instead of private keys, obviously *.JSON files are safer because they need a password to open them, whereas private keys can be used directly.
