Ripple is a fairly promising coin and it will develop, be accepted by banks and various financial institutions, grow technologically and in price. I think not because eth is currently used in many ICO projects while bitcoin is famous for its first coin that uses blockchain technology so many investors are more confident in bitcoin.

Please note that out of every 100 ICO projects 99 of them are not successful, fraud, or something that we call SCAM. So, if the ICO project is the parameter you used to determine the worthiness of a coin, I think it's not a good idea.
