Will ETH 2.0 launch this year? [Currently 51%]

Ethereum has seen a considerable spike in ETH deposits for 2.0 in the past two days with 88K yesterday and 41K the day before. Ethereum 2.0 has now over 50% of validators needed before launching, which is currently estimated to be early next month (as opposed to January 2021 as previouslt estimated).

If we consider how fast the deposit progress is, it is not impossible that ETH 2.0 to launch this year. Look! Yeah, we will see ETH2.0 appear in a few days. Hopefully everything is stable, maybe the speed is not really impressive, but the problems that appeared in Testnet have been fixed.
