Product Strategy Principal - Remote UK

As Product Strategy Principal at IOHK you are responsible for developing and driving the product portfolio strategy. You will be responsible for defining how individual products fit into a broader strategy and providing key requirements. You will mentor product leaders to deliver strategies that yield revenue generating value streams. You will be responsible for reporting product progress driving QBRs with the EXCOM.

Duties

Developing a portfolio strategy for Regulated Finance
Mentoring of the product managers in order to build the product strategy muscle in the team and mature it
Drive integration with Corporate Strategy by building an investment strategy around each product and integrating this activity in the process of building new products
Support the QBRs process by building rigor in product teams around QBR cycles (prep financials, partnerships information, key risks, challenges, updated view on competitive landscape, etc.)
Build synergies with our spin outs, partners, funding sources and identify opportunities to assemble various propositions that cut across those things
Develop a Product Intelligence capability by identifying major trends, big opportunities, areas to play in, analyzing market signals, and build our ability to anticipate.
Support our strategic projects product manager by providing guidance on how we can manage and execute those
Work closely with CPO to develop a global product portfolio strategy, identify cross-product synergies and manage priorities across the board.
Be an advisor to the CPO and Director of Product Marketing, and provide deep insights to facilitate decisions relating to portfolio prioritization, new initiatives and special projects.
Collect and analyze product feedback and insights in order to distill strategic recommendations into actionable features.
Be a key partner to Product Managers on the development of their respective product strategies and provide valuable insights to facilitate efficient decision making at their respective level.
Collaborate with business intelligence, commercial and product marketing to collect and analyze market data in order to orient IOG global product strategy.
Performs continuous market surveillance and communicates, through benchmarks, quadrants, maps and other reports on new trends and potential opportunities, that will drive IOGs product strategy
Develop strategic partnerships with key market specialists, technological research specialists and data analytics providers in order to access diversified, qualitative and updated market data
Manages a team of analysts in order support product management needs for market research and product strategy insights
Ensures alignment of the product strategy to corporate strategy, commercial, technology and product.
Research, analyze and generate on a recurring basis standard industry overviews and commissioned reports
Requirements
Key Competencies

Conducts research audits, creates knowledge maps, and performs trend assessments and SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) analyses to define scope and opportunities.
Collaborates with top management to develop a range of product growth strategies and create action plans that will create business impact.
Maintains a solid understanding of market trends, competitive offerings, and client needs; and identifies gaps and differentiates offerings in the market.
Contributes to company’s leadership decision making process
Champions best practices and innovative thinking to continually improve company output.
Education / Experience

MBA or degree in technology preferred
10+ years experience in product management or business strategy
Outstanding quantitative and critical analysis skills are required
Demonstrated history of identifying market opportunities and leading the development of commercially successful new products in existing and/or new markets
Demonstrated history of building alignment between product, technology and subject matters experts within an organization, as well as a demonstrated capacity of effectively interacting with external stakeholders throughout the stages of the product lifecycle.
Demonstrated history of sound business judgment, analytical rigor, and disciplined product strategy decisions based on data-driven insights
Demonstrated working knowledge of blockchain and/or adjacent market segments, key competitors, and related industry trends is strong preferred
Prior experience in Product strategy, product management, product marketing, business intelligence
Has shown commitment, leadership and progression in past roles
