Coinbase to offer new crypto / British pound trading pairs

Crypto exchange Coinbase announced that on September 7 it will add new trading pairs of sterling pound (GBP) with cryptocurrency for traders from the UK.

David Farmer, General Manager of Coinbase Pro, wrote in a blog on Thursday that the register of orders, the company will offer GBP trading pair with ether (ETH), Bitoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum Classic (ETC) and litecoin (LTC), in addition to bitcoin, which is already available now.

The company stated that each new offer will first go through a preliminary stage only after the completion of which full trading services such as limit orders, market execution and stop orders will be available.

Farmer further explained that Coinbase will allow users to submit limit orders, but their execution will not be available for at least 10 minutes. Once limit orders are added, market orders will not be submitted. The phase for limit orders only will also take at least another 10 minutes.

The news follows a report in early August that Coinbase provided direct Deposit and withdrawal services in GBP for the first time through a faster payment system. Farmer also drew attention to the traditional method of converting GBP to euros, which usually took a few days to complete the Bank transfer.

The trade offer for the British pounds also appeared a few months after the crypto-exchange from the United States received a license to receive electronic money from the financial regulation Authority of the United Kingdom, which opens the opportunity for Coinbase to expand the scope of its services in Europe.
