Nigeria has a higher level of insecurities and violence. This has affected the country economy and financial systems. Most people now store their money as form of crypto currency using the exchange platforms because it's not regulated by any government. So it will not be affected by inflation.
Insecurity is relative and I can tell you that some states in Nigeria are enjoying relative peace but no doubt the overall rating of the country shows that insecurity permeates across the country. I think tackling insecurity is not the solution but tackling what causes the insecurity will bring lasting solution. In my thinking, one word for the cause is injustice. Injustice in employment, sharing of resources and government presence.
In the area of employment, the bulk of the youths and graduates are idle. They have no jobs. Remember an idle mind is the devil's workshop. Most idle youths have resorted to crime as a way to survive in a hard country like ours. Sometimes, even when jobs are advertised, it takes connection to get the job. This has made it difficult for the poor who knows nobody in top government positions to keep struggling. Emphasis is no longer placed on merit but rather "man-know-man". This has created frustration in the minds of the victimized and when there is frustration then aggression is inevitable.
In the area of resources sharing, some states or a part of a state in the country often feel aggrieved that resources that is due to them is not given to them. This grievance accounts for why some youths in that area have carried arms to disturb the peace of the country. It can be view upsidedown that "father wey say pikin no go sleep, no go sleep too".
Also, some people feels that they don't enjoy government presence and their demands are not met so they try to create insecurity as a way to drag government attention to them.
These issues raised if looked into can tackle the insecurity in Nigeria.
