This forum has way too much boards

I found those ones very easy to merge into one:

Bitcoin Forks
https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=359.0

Inside this, we have 3 additional boards with very low activity: bch, big and bsv. Just move all topics to the forks board and delete those boards.

Ethereum
https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?board=3.0
There are so many boards here: solidity, basics, Ethereum news, Eth Price (not even a board anymore, just a link to another board), eth tokens.

Just delete this link to eth price.
Basics board should just be moved to ethereum.

This way we have eliminated 2 boards.

Why do we have a binance connection and a binance smartchain forum?
It would be the same as having an ethereum and an Eth boards.

I find those duplicated boars just make harder to post, harder to find posts... this reduces interactive in the forum.

Lack of traffic basically is the answer IMO. I also think the amount of boards may be a bit too much as well and users are still learning the forum. We might need to consider condensing and eliminating some sections, but those are not my call and I wouldn't know where to start. Just recall reading a few complaints about it.

I couldn't agree more. I hope the admin here us and merge some boards.

Additionally to the lack of traffic, I believe the forum SEO is not that good either, as it doesn't do well in Google searches. So, the authority of the backlinks is low... disencouraging campaign

Crypto Wallets / Re: Wasabi wallet shutting down Coinjoin
« on: Today at 11:36:19 AM »
Something similar like coinjoin already works fine inside wallet of other coins like BCH, with ElectrumCash wallet, but this would not work good in BTC because of much higher transaction fees.

This high fee is temporary. We won't live in bull run forever.

1 sat/vB is real  :D
It will happen again soon

Honestly, I don't understand yet why tBTC has value to some people? If this is a testnet and this Bitcoin is not real and has no real value then why are some people interested in buying it? Why else are there interested in getting tBTC airdrops?

The only reason I can think of is that they are using it to scam, is that true? Or are there other uses?

It is scarse and hard to get.

TBTC is already in block 2million, which is equal to year 2061 in mainnet. Reward is basically zero so you can't mine it.

Maybe they should make conventional data centers greener first.
....

I see two big problems with this.

The first is that who decides what is a "green miner" and who isn't. That's right, they have centralized entities doing that which means the mining process becomes less decentralizedd as the process can be hijacked to exclude miners they don't like.

Second, who actually guarantees that any of the transactions are going to land in a block. This would require all miners not submitting their block templates to Bitcoin and to the centralized entity. This stinks of sanctions.

I think the problem is that they are basically shifting the emissions elsewhere, and not really eliminating them.

Bitcoin mining is naturally greener than most people think.
I know hydroelectric is the cheaper electricity available, and naturally miners will move where the energy is cheap.

I am confused about those raffles. Will they continue?

I am currently unable to contact UniJoin. It seems their website is now down and their Twitter account has been deleted (or suspended).

Therefore, until the circumstances are clarified, I will rename the thread to “Closed” and delete links leading to the site.

What comes to my mind is that they suspended work like Wasabi did.

It's certainly possible since they used to list Ordinal-based token and there's speculation they plan to list Rune-based token as well[2].

I agree with Loop here.. I don't think it should be profitable to sell those tBTC.

I think tBTC is way better than most altcoins, but it isn't supposed to have any value. It should be really easy fast and free to get tons of tBTC, so nobody would ever think about buying it or speculating with it.

I am not opposed to airdrops for people who test new projects, as this is somehow a work, like beta testers.

Yeah, it's domino effect now.
I saw initiative from someone to create decentralized coordinator system for Coinjoin, so let's see what happens with that.

Some decentralized solution would be the only option imo.
A true decentralized application (an app which cannot be stopped once started running) would be amazing.

Without some solution like that, I don't see a long term solution for coinjoin wallets.

Signature Campaigns / Re: Altcoinstalks Signature Campaign Observer
« on: May 06, 2024, 07:53:17 PM »
Unfortunately, two campaigns are most likely finished on the forum  :(
Tumbler and Unijoin are on Hold

It is becoming harder to make money in both btt and altcoinstalks

Just before Cm Was seized (less than 2 years ago) it was easy to get 300 usd per week in the campaign and also we had lots of reviews that paid 20-90 usd per review, which happened quite often. SB paid similar rates too.

Now campaigns are paying much lower, with less spots...

I hope  new campaigns shows up. Usually, when a mix dies 2 more show up

I just saw this now.

I would like to participate if it is still open

11
I believe the signature payments are more likely as a way to live you present times better because now the Bitcoin has already gone way higher in value and holding those coins won't be so much profitable now.

I still believe holding bitcoin will be very profitable in the future.
120k is not impossible, and it is already 100% from now.

I am holding about 80% of the coins I ever owned.

12
I'm not sure if we can see any financial tool greater than BTC in the future, but at this point, I think Satoshi deserves a Nobel Prize for creating BTC to change the global financial system once and for all.

Satoshi really gave a gift to mankind.

A gift which knows no borders.

For the rich, for the poor . For Israeli and Palestinians. For computer geeks and for financial experts and owners of small stores. For Russians and ucranians. Everyone is freee to use it.

If you taken the mining gear out and just count the coins  under 5percent

This is very small. Especially for you that has been around  the forum for so long.
You basically sold everything along the years?

Now, before you suggest that I should Google it, I want to let you know that I have already done my online research and read some formal writings about Proof of Reserve (PoR) and its significance in the ecosystem of a crypto company. However, what I still haven't fully grasped is whether it has any impact on the price of coins (which, let's be honest, is what we all really care about).

To provide some context, my interest in this topic was piqued when I noticed bitget trending on Twitter today because their PoR has reportedly increased by around 176%, and many people there seem to be thrilled about it. I simply want to understand the underlying reason behind all this excitement. Does it have any influence on the tokens listed on the cryptocurrency exchange or the BGB token itself?

Proof of reserves is not something accurate and nobody should really trust it

Proof of reserves affects an exchange liability.  However,  as we can't double check it  , Proof of reserves are worthless.

They arte worthless because they can prove they own X. But we can't see every individual account of this exchange and sum their values to know if the X matches.

I will refer you to this post: https://blog.lopp.net/griefing-bitcoin-testnet/

This is where Jameson Lopp demonstrates how he managed to amplify so many transactions on testnet in order to show people what kind of problem or vulnerability he has. He is not finished apparently.

So while I definitely disapprove of all the testnet trading and airdrops, it's all very brittle and easily falls apart when testnet blocks are accelerated.

So he finally write a blog about his action. I just know that there are 3 places to trade tBTC. It's also crazy some people/group intentionally make tBTC valuable, while intentionally ignoring known weakness on testnet network.

People just want to make money.

There are airdrops on tBtc, which is crazy imo.

If binance listed tBTC, the price would skyrocket as it is better than many altcoins lol
