OP, are you sure your link is correct? I can't find the right article and clicking it only shows a 404 error (the website loads properly, just that there's no news on the page).

Anyway, I think he is missing the point, or deliberately missing the point of many criticisms aimed at the SEC. No one is saying they should not put their focus on crypto or prevent scams etc, just that the way they do it is terrible. They need to fix their habit of making misleading claims like what happened with Debt Box too. CMIIW.

and even if there is nothing of that sort, it still isn't easy to stay away from the market, especially if you have some money invested whether it is for short term or long term.
Have you tried to use a notification tool? I'm sure some people already mentioned it before, not sure if it is on this thread or not but I can vouch that a notification bot/tool is very helpful. There are free services if you don't want to pay for them, or you can build your own with some coding. At the very least, it helps you know whenever a big change happens on the market. Stuff like sending a notification when BTC is at $100k or $10k is also standard, so you can get them easily. For me, it help me reduce anxiety and help me distance myself from the market in a healthy manner.

I wouldn't even recommend discussing your salary from your regular job with people you don't trust.
Do people really do this? I'm really surprised if that was the case. I've been doing some door-to-door interviews in the past, and even if I find someone who likes to boast about his achievement, they never say how much they make each year. At best they said they can buy one or two motorcycles each month, but that's that. That's still pretty dangerous though, but no one ever discusses their salary openly. I don't think that's necessary to tell people you can use Bitcoin to pay for stuff anyway.

If we talk about crypto though, I often find people discuss it openly, but never specifically mention that they hold Bitcoin or something similar. In fact, I found people like to discuss it online instead. Maybe it is different for each country, but that's my experience so far. Most people that I know who participate in crypto are from forums or social media, to begin with.

Asal tetap hati-hati ane rasa worth buat spekulasi. CMIIW.

I wonder how much traffic comes from contests though, in my mind, I always believe a signature campaign is the best way to build a brand since a member can post anywhere so the exposure is not limited to one board/thread. That being said, I do see a business that regularly hosts a contest on Bitcointalk, so I guess it brings decent traffic. But if they have a budget to do that, wouldn't adding more signature spots or buying the forum ad slot be better?

« on: May 07, 2024, 10:25:45 PM »

Crypto Wallets / Re: Transferring coins between platforms/wallets
« on: May 07, 2024, 09:49:27 PM »
You should be able to do that if the token required to vote is the same token that you bought on Kraken. Just withdraw it to your web3 wallet and connect it to the MakerDAO platform to vote. No exchange allows you to connect directly to a web3 dapp, so regardless of what exchanges you use in the future, you'll have to do the same thing again.  There is a guide on how to vote on Makerdao website, check them out and see if you have other questions[1]. You can also check their manuals.

Crypto Wallets / Re: Are you using Hardware Wallets?
« on: May 07, 2024, 09:05:35 PM »
The Safepal S1 was my first hardware wallet and it still works today.
Despite upgrading some other safepal wallets, I still stick with the Safepal S1.
Did you buy it directly from their website, or did you get it from a reseller? I tried to check the delivery option and it seems there's only one option, a flat $15 delivery fee unless it changes depending on the country that a user fills on the form. I was wondering how fast will the delivery be. I'd like to have an express option or something similar since the last regular/free shipping option took a long time to deliver a product that I bought from the US.

I see the ethereum logo on the left and the monero logo on the right, but when I hover over the two altcoin logos, it doesn't lead to any page? Can you provide a little explanation regarding this??? Is this an upcoming feature or just page decoration? Because initially I thought I could mix ETH or XMR with Coinomize.
I believe those are just placeholders since the caption says "Mix Monero/Ethereum Now". It is not impossible that we can mix those coins in the future but for now, it is for decorative purposes. My memory might fail me but I think those logos have existed since a while back. CMIIW.

Your image doesn't seem to load on my end btw.

namun muncul pesan: "Direct IP access not allowed"

Crypto Exchanges / Re: Why do CEXs value TV so much?
« on: May 06, 2024, 08:43:10 PM »
Yeah, it's nothing new. Just another trend like launchpad, ICO, and so on. That's probably the reason why Binance is buying aggregators like CMC so that they can push their exchange on top with new criteria and so on. I wouldn't be surprised if trading volume is no longer viewed as important in the near future, and people move their focus to other things like reserves, transparency, etc. As long as you don't fall for marketing trick, using these indicators are fine imo.

One concept I eventually liked about crypto loan is the concept on Bitget where they say to avoid liquidation, you can reduce your LTV by depositing more collateral or repaying part of your loan. It makes crypto loan more reasonable and takes away the fear losing all funds due to volatility and just like you have said, it makes life a lot easier and let's have access to assets without losing it all.
I don't think that concept is unique to crypto, or Bitget in this case. I've heard similar features on other crypto loan platform, or traditional lending platform who uses collateral. The only difference is probably the flexibility and convenience since you can easily manage your loans through your browser in crypto. Btw, as far as I understand it, it doesn't remove the risk of volatility, you can still lose a lot of money unless you plan on continuously supplying new funds everytime the market is bearish. If anything, crypto loan is riskier since you need to watch out more factors compared to traditional lending platform who use one or two currencies. CMIIW.

The numbers back it up too, they seriously blew past their presale, and most of the tokens are already staked.
Are you referring to this project[1]? Not sure how you said they blew past their target when the number is not as impressive as other ICOs. Not to mention history shows that big capital doesn't equate to success. The concept is hard to understand, and if I read it correctly the result of your prediction can affect your staking rewards. It doesn't really introduce any new demand for the token so it will eventually die sooner or later. I wonder why they use that as their main selling point. If anything, maybe you should read and find more projects to broaden your horizons so you don't fall into traps.

And it seems imposible for me to use my Bitcoin for that purpose unless someone is selling weapons for Bitcoins as we are talking about war in here.
Does your country explicitly forbid the usage of Bitcoin as a means of payment? What about coins printed with private keys? I think I can see some people use coins to trade for food, although this imaginary situation can only happen if people are familiar with it and the country doesn't explicitly forbid them from doing so. If anything, I believe Bitcoin as a currency will show its strength when there's no war or something similar, as long as people can access the internet.
