Free TON (https://freeton.org/) is an ultra-fast next generation blockchain capable of handling millions of transactions per second. It is notable for its security and scalability, and is friendly both for ordinary users and large startups. Do you think that only Ethereum can accommodate countless smart contracts and tokens of different formats? No, Free TON is a huge distributed supercomputer, which due to its technical characteristics can give a forum to all current top blockchains.
Free TON was officially launched on May 7, 2020 (https://twitter.com/CommunityTon/status/1258426204727672835), when approximately 1000 community members signed the "Declaration of Decentralization (https://freeton.org/join)". The project has nothing to do with the activities of Telegram Group Inc. (https://sec.report/CIK/0001730853), although it is based on the blockchain protocol, which was developed by the famous programmer Nikolai Durov and can be used by anyone, because the code is publicly available on Github (https://github.com/tonlabs). Many people consider Free TON to be a fork of TON, but it is not, because the TON was never launched.
What about architecture?
The basis is a decentralized operating system called "TON OS", which is a kind of middleware interface (layer) between users and the blockchain network itself. It is possible to draw an elementary parallel with the computer: the blockchain is "hardware" and "TON OS" is Windows for users.
For application development on TON OS there is a whole set of tools: compilers with Solidity, C++, databases, SDK, etc.
Another feature of the OS is the TON Surf (https://ton.surf/main) user interface which is similar to the Linux interface. It has several ready-made secure applications: browser, wallet and chat.
"TON OS" is open source software that can be modified and improved by anyone. Decentralization, it is.

Free TON Weekly Digest (19.04-24.04)
1. We held the Free TON Weekly Meetup # 50 in English, where the virtual state FreeLand and Free TON Merger was presented. We also discussed general and technical updates, as wel as the partnership with the Human Venture team engaged in charitable projects.
2. New contest was launched by the private CryptoNumiz Sub-governance. The aim of the contest is to create an NFT design in honor of the Free TON anniversary. It will be held from 21.04 to 06.05.
3. DeFi Sub-governance launched the first Free TON Yield Farming program aimed at subsidizing USDT / WTON staking at Uniswap.
4. Statistical table of token distribution as of 04/22/2021. 153,260 TONs were sent for the implementation of cooperation proposals and competitions.
5. On May 7, at the site in Moscow City wil be the celebration of the first anniversary of the Free TON project . The organizing team is looking for a charismatic host who speaks good English.

TreeTONia - Free TON Recovery
Last year 2020 Pavel Rozanov (https://t.me/pasha_rozanov) and Sergey Tyurin (https://t.me/Custler) created the TreeTONia community and now a fund of the same name is being created, the main task of which is to convince mankind of the need to plant forests in an amount no less than it has been cut down and destroyed by forest fires, and to organize these plantings directly. So, for example, in Russia alone in 2019 more than 5 billion trees died from forest fires. Unfortunately, the state has largely abandoned both fire fighting and reforestation work.
The goals and objectives of the Treetonia project are simple:
- Attract the attention and participation of millions of people;
- plant millions of trees annually;
- Using a specific example, show the effectiveness of a decentralized economy and management (Offline)
- Education of the younger generation, in the new reality of a conscious attitude to their actions on a global scale.
- Transformation of the existing system of egoism and consumption, showing the possibilities of collective co-creation by personal example and lobbying the interests of the community in existing structures, forcing them to adopt and implement laws that help harmonize the Earth's ecosystem.
How can you help the project?
The territory of TreeTONia is large and requires daily improvement. You can come, with all possible help, any day and in any weather.
- There is an electric generator, sockets. They work correctly;
- Gas and a stove are also available, the food is delicious, but a lot (you can bring your own).
- The Internet is also there, but not always cool (if there are signal amplifiers, it would be great).
- Shops within 10 minutes walk.
- You need to take a tent (or you can stay in the car), folding chairs, ottomans, hammocks are also welcome, there is somewhere to hang.
- You can and be useful to sunbathe (take panama hats and sunscreen).
- Nearby there is a river where you can swim.
How to get there?

As the number of wallets supporting FreeTON grows, I decided to draft the standard of payment links in TON Crystals similar to BIP-21 in Bitcoin but taking into account some of the features of TON.
This standard doesn't cover:
- Smart contracts calls and payload in general (only simple comment is supported)
- TIP-3 and NFT tokens transfer (I reserved separate TIPs as extensions of this standard)
- Recipient callbacks (similar to BIP 70-72)

Anniversary of the Free TON Wiki
June 28, 2020 is a significant day for Free TON Wiki, because that's when the initiative group of enthusiasts registered the domain (https://en.freeton.wiki/) and started working on the site of the future encyclopedia.
Two months later, on August 24, 2020, the Wiki Subgovernance proposal (https://wiki.gov.freeton.org/proposal?isGlobal=true&proposalAddress=0%3A6c9c5a59101b1ade9995b633f5e41a101f82690bf7360babf77e4580dcd570f8) was approved, making it the first Subgovernance in the Free TON ecosystem.
Over the past year, the Free TON Wiki has become a powerful free educational base for Free TON newcomers and bring great benefit to the community:

Dear Developers! Attention! This update is important!
We kindly ask you to update all your applications, scripts etc. to use the list of Free TON or Devnet endpoints, present in this document https://docs.ton.dev/86757ecb2/p/85c869-networks. Please, make sure you specify all the endpoints in your application, not a single one. This is needed because periodically some of the endpoints will be closed for maintenance without any announcements. SDK provides balancing between endpoints so the applications that use SDK, given they specify the list of endpoints, will not be affected by maintenance of particular endpoints.
Support of main.ton.dev and net.ton.dev endpoints will be stopped by July 12 2021.

The MEXC Global Exchange is holding a competition to honor the listing of TON Crystal.
In honor of the listing, MEXC announced a competition https://support.mexc.com/hc/en-001/articles/4403357086362 with a total prize pool of 46,000 TON Crystal tokens. The competition lasts until July 2, 18:00 (MSK). There are several ways to take part in it:
1. Top up your account with tokens. Users who have transferred at least 100 TON to their account on the exchange will receive 50 "crystals" as a reward.
2. Take part in the competition of traders. After the end of the competition, the organizers will determine the winners based on the trading volume of the participants. The 10 users with the highest trading volume will share 14,000 "crystals" among themselves, depending on the amount of trading. The 1st place trader will receive 6,000 TON Crystal coins as a reward.

Please, make sure you specify all the endpoints in your application, not a single one. This is needed because periodically some of the endpoints will be closed for maintenance without any announcements. SDK provides balancing between endpoints so the applications that use SDK, given they specify the list of endpoints, will not be affected by maintenance of particular endpoints

- value option of the contract commands can accept values with "t" suffix. Such values will be properly converted to nano tokens.
- run-signer option of the the contract commands allows to sign messages with alternative keys different from signer meanwhile address is still calculated from signer parameter (or from default signer). It should be useful for run-local (with None value) so that it is not needed to specify address explicitly any more.
- tondev commands that produce files (e.g. sol create) create output folders if required.
- tondev signer add command's secret option can accept a path to the keys file.
- tondev se set options image and container allow use existing docker
images and containers to register SE instances.

Crypto project MFCoin from Mr. Freeman has completed the migration to Free TON
The MFCoin project team announced the completion of the process of swapping their coins for TON Crystal coins. Each MFCoin holder could exchange them for "crystals" in a ratio of 1: 115.
MFCoin is a cryptocurrency project for a "virtual state" called Freeland, powered by the Emercoin blockchain hardfork. Freeland also has its own passport that meets the main international standards. The owner of one of these passports, in particular, is the co-founder of Qiwi Sergey Solonin.
The creators of MFCoin promise to continue the work of their project, but already on the Free TON blockchain. 1. Vitalik thinks token-based decentralized governance is holding DeFi back
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has taken a deep dive into token-based decentralized governance, suggesting that existing voting mechanisms are flawed and may be holding the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector back from realizing its full potential.
In a lengthy blog post published on Monday, Buterin stated that the crypto community needs to “move beyond coin voting as it exists in its present form.”
Vitalik Buterin's opinion resonates with many community participants, especially those who have already faced the disadvantages of a governance token, when many decisions were made thanks to the collusion of the largest token holders or when the participation of one whale is enough to promote any initiative in the protocol.

2. Treasury Dept. wants to ‘capture DeFi’ with infrastructure bill: Jake Chervinsky
The last-minute cryptocurrency provisions added to the United States infrastructure bill sought to “capture DeFi,” argues Compound general counsel Jake Chervinsky.
Appearing on the Bankless State of the Nation podcast on Tuesday, Chervinsky — who is also DeFi chair of the Blockchain Association — said the industry had been “blindsided” by the infrastructure bill’s crypto tax provisions that were announced just nine days prior to when it was expected to pass through the Senate.
Today, indeed, US government agencies are actively interested in the DeFi industry, trying to find tools for its regulation.
But the DeFi community responds by preparing for a legal battle, as well as releasing new protocols aimed at working in the new reality of industry regulation.

3. Poly Network offers to on board 'Mr. White Hat' as chief security advisor
Decentralized finance protocol Poly Network has offered the person behind a $610 million hack an advisery position and $500,000 — whether they like it or not.
In a Tuesday update, the Poly Network team said, in a seeming attempt to gain access to the hacker’s expertise, that it would be inviting them to the position of chief security adviser. In addition, the project will be sending a $500,000 bounty for the attacker, whom Poly dubbed "Mr. White Hat," despite the fact they have previously refused any payment.
This is an excellent initiative that will increase the level of security, both for the network and for the entire industry. Such news can lure an increasing number of dark hackers to the side of good, showing them all the prospects to work for the benefit of the community.

Free TON Developers Introduce True NFT Technology
The TON Surf and RSquad teams have published the code for a new solution called True NFT.
The key differences of the technology are the placement of all data about NFT (including content) on the Free TON blockchain and the ability to search for records about collections and tokens, as well as about actions with them by sending standardized requests from smart contracts.

True NFT allows you to interact with tokens in decentralized browsers and applications using a single blockchain address, or send NFTs with only the recipient's address.
As conceived by the creators, the new technology should greatly facilitate the trade and exchange of NFTs.
When using True NFT, information about its owner is included in the initial data of the token, which makes it possible to find it when searching. The data is placed in a separate non-removable contract, thus forming a semblance of a search index, which is recreated when the owner changes.
RSquad and TON Surf also introduced a set of additional smart contracts for finding NFT and its owners, as well as for basic token transactions.
The creation of True NFT became possible, among other things, due to the fact that the Free TON architecture implies the widest possible use of contracts. In particular, every address on the blockchain is a smart contract.
There are already several NFT marketplaces operating in the Free TON ecosystem, including GrandBazar.io and NiFi Club.
As a reminder, tickets for the first anniversary since the launch of the Free TON mainnet were sold in NFT form.

What's long-term farming?
Long-term farming is just farming without a set end date. We are introducing infinity pools on TON Swap which means you can now farm for as long as your heart desires. Instead of having to join or create a new pool to change farming speed, now changes can be made at intervals of once every two weeks
But, wait, there's more:
We've also got vesting for you which will help balance out increases in farming speeds and TVL. In addition to that we have introduced farming boosts which will allow liquidity pool tokens that do not make claims to be farmed at higher speeds than those that frequently make claims. The following pairs are eligible for boosts:

• WTON-ETH

Boosts will help stimulate even more long-term farming which will benefit the entire ecosystem.
Why the changes?
It's simple. TON Swap just keeps on getting bigger. The DEX now has more TON liquidity than all CEXs combined! And that figure is only going to continue to rise. Beyond that, total trading volume on TON Swap is nearing the equivalent of $40 million over its existence. Total net sales of TON currently amounts to a whopping 4.3 million tokens, about 1.5 million of which are the result of token farming. The majority of that farming output is the result of long-term farming projects in the FreeTON ecosystem
Plus, thanks to the Crystal Handshake program and the other things we've got cooking, these moves make space for more projects to join the FreeTON ecosystem and expand our capabilites. There are a number of new tokens that are slated to be added to TON Swap which will further expand the DEX’s farming capabilities. Among the projects expected to join TON Swap are:

Do I need to brand LP tokens?
Yes need. After the end of the farming, the participants need to pick up the steak reward (Claim button). Over time and the release of the upcoming update with the new wave of pharming, interfaces for interacting with contracts will no longer be actively supported.
What to do with LP tokens?
You don't need to do anything. Just wait for the next wave of farming, which will launch very soon.
Why not leave the pool?
1. Do not forget that for providing liquidity in a pool, you receive a commission from each swap in the corresponding DEX pool;
2. There is no point in spending money on blockchain fees if you plan to continue farming in the second wave. All major pairs of the ending farming wave will be present in the new campaign as well.
How can I see my LP token balance?
1. You need to go to TON Swap;
2. In the Pool tab, in the pair you need, find the LP root address;
2. In the window that opens ton.live, copy the address of the contract;
3. Open Crystal Wallet -> select asset -> custom token and paste this address there

We are officially launching the long-term farming program on TON Swap!
Remember we announced we had long-term farming on the horizon? Well it's officially up and running!
The long-term farming program comes with two major new features:
What's long-term farming?
Long-term farming is just farming without a set end date. We are introducing infinity pools on TON Swap which means you can now farm for as long as your heart desires. Instead of having to join or create a new pool to change farming speed, now changes can be made at intervals of once every two weeks.
👍 Vesting is a key feature that will help maintain the health of the ecosystem. Vesting works as a means of balancing out increases in farming speeds and TVL. In addition, it opens the door for us to apply farming boosts to select token pairs in the near future.
There are currently two BRIDGE tokens that are eligible for the farming program:
•WBTC-BRIDGE
•WTON-BRIDGE
Plus, thanks to the Crystal Handshake program and the other things we've got cooking, these moves make space for more projects to join the FreeTON ecosystem and expand our capabilites. There are a number of new tokens that are slated to be added to TON Swap which will further expand the DEX’s farming capabilities. Among the projects expected to join TON Swap are:

Free TON broke its own world record
Last year, Free TON ran a contest that gained the network over 400 validators. The contest, dubbed “The Crystal Game” (homage to the Glass Bead Game) had validators compete in validation cycles recurrently in order to win the title of “Magister Ludi” as well as token prizes. This year, those same validators (in addition to new ones) entered into a new validator contest: The Rust Cup, which sought to outperform all layer-one blockchain protocols throughput in real network conditions with TON nodes written in Rust.

Now you can specify custom networks, it's cool to mine, it should be useful to someone.
And also, we made an SDK for websites, which already knows how to open a wallet and send tokens, but this is just the beginning.
