Title: About users repeatedly breaking the rules
Post by: Freemind on March 11, 2021, 11:08:57 AM
Hi,

I have been watching for a long time how some users (too many unfortunately) continue to violate the rules over and over again despite being warned, having negative karma, etc...

Would it be possible to redirect those users (when they log into the forum) automatically to a forum page where they can read the rules they are breaking and the "punishments" they are receiving?.

I ask this question because I don't know if those users don't care, or if they haven't really looked at their profile and they don't know what's going on.

I think this would help, though not sure it'd be very easy to implement, if including the reasons for the warnings as well, that sounds like quite some integration between login and warning system. The warnings (when used correctly (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=82991.0)) sends the user a PM as well as email, so I think most don't care, unless they don't check or read PMs/emails which I find unlikely in most cases.

None the less a page reminding users who have been warned in say last 7 days of the forum rules would be very useful.  Ideally it would be a page with a tick box to continue to the forum, for these users to confirm they have read the rules and will abide by them.

@dragononcrypto I have been thinking about something similar to what I have said in my previous post, but it is not that they are only redirected to a forum page where they see their punishments, also to an "obligation" to "agree" on what they have to read to continue using the forum normally.

I don't know if technically it would be possible to do something like that, but then those users who don't mind breaking the rules would know 100% what they are doing.

It's possible, I know on another SMF-based forum there was a page after logging in reminding users of the rules. You had to tick a box to continue, to agree that you have read them and will abide by them. It also makes punishing users more consensual, as they have to sign the contract agreeing to the forum rules :)

Great @dragononcrypto, if it is possible to do so, it would also be nice if the message displayed on that page is translated into all possible languages, so that no user can later say that they did not know what they had read and simply clicked "I agree".
