Title: Unsaved sent messages
Post by: Don Pedro Dinero on January 16, 2024, 04:43:12 PM
I just sent a private message and when I go to reread it to see if I have left anything important out, I see that it is not in my sent items. I noticed that the 'Save a copy in my outbox' option is not activated by default.

Any special reason for this? I think it should be the other way round.

Does anyone know how to leave it ticked for all the messages I write?

You can tick it by default here https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;area=pmprefs "Save a copy of each personal message in my sent items by default."

I'd recommend to look at the different settings in profile, maybe there can be other things you can find useful also. ;)

Thank you, I have changed it. But it's the second time I've seen a counter-intuitive thing that I have to change by going to my options. The first was that when I replied to a thread, the thread disappeared and I was redirected to the forum overview. The second is this. I think the logical thing to do is to have the option for the emails you send to be saved by default and if you don't want it, to then change the option.

I say this as a possible suggestion for improvement. I don't know if @admin will read this.

Some settings must be defined by default. Everything you mentioned is settings that come with account registration but it is possible to adjust them. as long as there is a possibility to edit and adapt the functions of the forum according to your needs, we should not consider it a problem.

admin is everywhere, he will surely see this, although I'm sure he already knows and has gotten similar suggestions before. Although I believe that his answer will not differ much from what I wrote above.

I can confirm this. I responded to a message a week ago and it appeared at the top of the message: “You have forwarded or responded to this message.” » But the receiving party confirmed that he did not receive the message and I did not find it in sent items.

Display personal messages as conversation is a good feature for anyone who wants to track messages better, but it is better to use Telegram as a reliable medium to send messages instead of forum messages.

I had the same thing happening to me so I had to enable saving of sent messages in profile settings.
One of the things I don't like about SMF forums are archaic PM system, and I would not use it for any serious conversation.
SimpleX chat is much better option for private conversation.

There are differences. I can delete the entire history of the discussion between the two of us, both for me and for you. While on the forum, you cannot delete the messages that you already sent to me. Therefore, you cannot influence the history of our conversation on the forum, therefore all records remain in my inbox.
Ok, that's just in case the discussion is needed to prove in some critical cases.

Damnnnn,
During this time I only saw my date of birth in this forum but did not take the best settings for me.
You really have a very good observation in this forum and also seen from the rank and ranking of your ladies and badge so much.

Thanks Joker, I found something I was looking for, there I found a setting to see the latest inbox at the top.
This choice I want to change from the first time but I didn't change it because it might be lazy to look for it too. ;D
This makes it easier for me to be able to send messages personally to all members in this forum. Once again, thank you !
