Ethereum Forum / Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 1559
« on: February 25, 2021, 06:13:38 AM »
For those who are unaware, it's a proposal by the community to improve the experience of ethereum users by fixing the gas fees that are currently forcing many people to move to other blockchains.

As good as it sounds, there are some miners who are opposing the proposal and for obvious reasons ($$$).

It's scheduled to be done tomorrow. Let's wait until then.

Referral Links / BNB Faucet (X2 Limited time)
« on: February 25, 2021, 05:38:36 AM »
To all faucet fans out there, Betfury is giving out a maximum of 0.00158400 BNB daily and there are six days left to claim X2. I'm not sure if this will continue after their BNB competition is over but you might as well take this opportunity if you're not that busy.

Binance Coin (BNB) / BNB surged to no. 4 (nope no. 3)
« on: February 19, 2021, 04:10:41 AM »

^ taken from CoinGecko within 10 mins of this posting.

The increasing number of projects on the Binance Smart Chain, the cheap transaction fees, the ease of migration from Ethereum using only one address (i.e. Metamask) all helped pushed BNB to its price today. it might even knock USDT for the third ranking.

It's also important to note that it wasn't too long ago when they did the quarterly coin burn.

edit: it temporarily past USDT for 3rd.

edit 2: there goes that man

For the purpose of admittance into the SEC regulatory incubation framework, the assessment of all persons and products affected by the CBN circular of Feb. 5, 2021, is hereby put on hold until such persons are able to operate bank accounts within the Nigerian banking system,

Whoever is heading the department/agency is a turtle or much worse. Instead of trying to regulate cryptocurrencies, they can just imposed regulation on exchanges and other custodial services. They can never regulate BTC and many developed countries have realized that already.

Sorting Box / Newbies and Vets alike, learn from Elon's experience
« on: February 10, 2021, 05:04:49 PM »
Learn from Elon's experience with wallets. Remember this "Not Your Keys, Not Your Coin"

Here's the story:

1. Freewallet locked a wallet that apparently belongs to Elon.
2. EM asked his wallet to be unlocked
3. FW immediately fixed the issue

In an attempt to save face, FW tweeted to Elon. He replied with "Your app sucks"

In addition, Elon also made a tweet implying wallets like FW should be avoided at all cost.

^ Much respect for what he did here.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Yet another Investors vs. Traders topic
« on: February 07, 2021, 08:05:44 AM »

I don't know about your strategy but if we check the numbers, it's the long-term investors who has a higher success rate compared to traders. IIRC, there was even a research that says 90% of traders ends up in a loss.

I'm not trying to discourage you to trade short term. I guess you just have to balance the right strategy for you.
  • If you plan to trade, master your craft. Plan your trades, evaluate the results, and make necessary adjustment/s.
  • If you plan to invest long-term, do in-depth research of what you're buying and stay updated on project developments.

You can also come up with a hybrid approach. Split your money to have funds for long-term investments and for short-term trades.

Speaking of split, your strategy could also depend on your current budget. Most people would say do not put all your eggs in one basket but you might as well do it if you only have two eggs at your disposal.

Sorting Box / Newbies are vulnerable to FAKE/SCAM Airdrops
« on: February 02, 2021, 07:51:42 PM »
I understand that a lot of new members (including veterans) are looking to make money from airdrops or bounties. Let me remind everyone (especially the noobs) that there are a lot of scammers taking advantage of this.

I recently encountered a website that's offering to airdrop their token for all Doge holders. This is how the scam works:
1. User are required to link their wallet to the airdrop website
2. It will ask you to agree to the terms to make it look legitimate
3. Once you agree, you will be ask to submit your private key of your seed phrase.

Again newbies, do not give your private keys or seed phrase to anyone.

Forum related / Most Online ATH?
« on: January 27, 2021, 04:52:56 PM »
Code: [Select]
Most Online Today: 3677. Most Online Ever: 3477^ That's the stat I saw at the bottom of the page. Does that mean there were 3,677 users that logged in in the last 24 hours? If so, the "most online ever" count should be changed because that has been eclipsed by today's record.

On another note, 200 users online at the same time is probably the highest number I've seen since 2017.

Cryptocurrency discussions / BTC/ALTS Marriage
« on: January 22, 2021, 04:58:18 AM »
When bitcoin pumps and altcoins ride with it, everyone's happy.
When bitcoin dumps and altcoins follow, everyone wants alts decoupling from btc.

BTC and ALTS are odd couples. Even if USDT (or other stable coins pegged with other assets) is knocking at alts door, they will remain together ;D Just accept that and trade accordingly.

SafePal is a non-custodial mobile wallet (which means you hold your keys/seed phrase) that allows users to interact with DEXs, DAPPs, and other DEFIs. I'm personally using the wallet and have been trading through the Binance dApp (I get the same order book from Binance Exchange without creating an account there).

Anyway, back to the airdrop. They will be distributing 5,500,000 SFP tokens based on stakes/shares. The easiest and free would be the Twitter task and Referral Program. All instructions are available at SFP Round 2 Airdrop

I already mentioned the referral, you might help me buy a coffee if you use my code MT4ZQ5 (both of us will be rewarded) ;)

After setting up the wallet, just look for "SFP Airdrop Round 2 Claim NOW!" Promo ends Jan. 31, 2021.

PolkaDot has quickly gained the attention of many traders and onlookers with its rise to the top 10 and even surpassing XRP. It might be wise to look out for projects that will airdrop tokens under DOT. PolkaBridge is one of them - JOIN AIRDROP

It's the classic Google forms with follow, RT, join Telegram tasks

You can add my username @Zero9D under "referred by" space. Buy me a coffee ;D

Bitcoin Forum / The "Hidden" message in Bitcoin block no. 666666
« on: January 20, 2021, 06:20:04 AM »
I don't know what your religion is or if you even have one but let's put that side while checking the message as stated in the title

This is obviously not the first time someone had done this. Satoshi had done the same thing on the genesis block more than a decade ago. I remember there was also a message from the last block before the third bitcoin halving. Anyway, just sharing guys.

Binance Coin (BNB) / BNB 14th burning
« on: January 18, 2021, 08:31:20 AM »
CZ announced earlier that the 14th burning of BNB will commence in 48 hours but there is no details yet as to how many coins will be burned this time. The market has reacted quite positively (again) with the announcement as you can see in the 24H price increase.

Sorting Box / [Newbie "guide"] Bullrun - What to do?
« on: January 10, 2021, 08:07:50 AM »
Disclaimer: This is not a financial advice. Follow at your own risk.

It's undeniable that we are already in a bullrun and some say that the market is just on it's first leg up (which means there will be a second wave). While BTC is breaking ATHs almost everyday, watch out for altcoins that are outperforming bitcoin in terms of percentage gains. Don't believe it? Just go and check market aggregators like Coingecko where you'll see coins like ETH (71%) gaining more than BTC (28%) in the last seven days.

On a bullrun, the money is on the altcoins as proven already above. As a newbie here, be aware that there are many altcoins that are just pure scams and money grabs. Limit your risk by sticking with altcoins that have good tech, active team and a supportive community like LINK, ADA, DOT, and ETH to name a few.

Goodluck with your crypto trades.

XRP - Ripple Forum / XRP Delistings
« on: December 31, 2020, 06:00:02 AM »
Following the US SEC filing lawsuit against XRP, exchanges have announced delisting or suspending trading of this coin. For those who are not aware, Ripple was sued because they allegedly sold securities in the form of XRP to US investors/traders.

As I've said in another thread, if ever Binance decides to delist this it will be done by their US counterpart which is Binance US.
It will be the Binance US, which caters to all their US customers, who will do that. The main exchange blocks all US customers anyway.

and they did just that as announced here - Binance US Will Suspend XRP Trading and Deposits January 13th

Other exchanges that announced halting trading of XRP also includes:
  • Coinbase
  • Crypto.com
  • OKCoin
  • Ziglu
  • Wirex
  • Bittrex
  • Swipe Wallet
  • Crosstower
  • Beaxy
  • OSL
  • Jump Trading
  • Galaxy Digital
  • Bitwise

Other services might follow sooner or later.
