I'm not suggesting that anyone follow HYPE, because most HYPE cases will end very tragically,

I remember watching NXT pump like how many times but did not buy. It was the airdrop that caused the pump which is usually the case among other coins or tokens. People tend to buy them to get something free and offload after the snapshot. NXT is not necessarily a bad project, I would not mind buying at its current price if I have more funds.

For practicality, I do not think we should ignore hype. If you were given the chance, you can take advantage of those things by buying even before the train leaves and sell them at a profit of your choice.

Hype is not really bad as one may think (not that I have really participated in any), because if you should fall at the positive side, you'll end up making some good profits at the end of the day, just that it doesn't favour everyone. Those whom it favours are still in support of it, and those it doesn't leaves. For instance, most people does not invest in ICOs, because there are lots of scam projects going on, but they buy when it is listed (reason is to avoid loss of capital), and yet there are still investors who does not see the losses, but the profit ahead, and they invest.

I strongly agree with this, dont follow hype by some shillers. You always get rekt in doing so, many tokens/coin are built on hype and not on development and it is not healthy in the industry.

I also want to add that "hype" is still part of sales both for the early participants and those who participated later. This situation is similar to the market damand and supply principles, when there is higher demand, there could also be higher price and also higher supply etc.
"Hype" may play out when many investors are rushing to buy simply because others are buying. When the "Hype" surpassed the number of investors willing to buy, the coin crashes and many losses their investment. It goes on vice versa.

HyPEd projects are always rubbish. I know many projects that was hyped, it's either the project didn't make it to the market or its value goes down

In the case of cryptocurrency, it's usually the constant shilling/mentioning of a certain coin or token. You see them mentioned or talked about in different platforms like forums, social media, etc.

There is some truth to this. Experienced traders/investors usually make profits from the inexperience of newbies/noobs. It's the same case during the latest bull run, there was a large influx of new users and those vets who were holding some heavy bags made a lot of money from dumping on newbies.

I always avoid any HYPE site after i lost my all savings in few HYPE sites. I believe those who spread HYPE sites are mostly scammers. I specially want to thank you for bring this topic into the light.

The problem with the hype in crypto is that it happens really fast. If you cannot catch that time you can lose a lot. So I think that the hype is not that good for the market. Hype can be a scam as well. Shillers and influencers rule the market in crypto hypes. I unfollow them immediately

This brings back memories, I also remember when airdrops were all the rage after EBTC and all the other E-variants made participants a lot of money then everyone seemed to be making forks and airdrops. Like the numerous ZClassic forks, as well as Monero twice etc. Again it came down to the same principle; those who got in early (usually for free) dumping their bags on newbie investors who were buying the hype. So true, hype tends to make you lose your money because the shillers already filled their bags waiting for the hype causing FOMO to occur, but sometimes you can make a profit riding in early for the coin that is being hyped. Still best option is to avoid because it's risky.

On HYPE you can earn, but the most important thing is not to delay the sale. It is better to earn 20-30% of the original amount and sell the coin than to wait that due to the popularity it will reach heights(because this may not happen)
