Based on my personal experience, I think you have a point, one year period is already lengthy, But it depends on the cryptocurrency that you are holding, if it was Bitcoin will it is alright because I'm pretty sure that Bitcoin value will continue to rise, But if it was an altcoin with a low Market Cap I think 1-2 years of Holding is too long enough already. Ofcource trading and holding both are good way of earn . But I prefer holding instaed of trading for a newbie , because this isn't easy to generate mnwui through Trading .
