I am not sure for the exact order but for me popularity is the root of all this because that is where people build it's trust to Bitcoin use it as what it is intended for but investors find Bitcoin a good and profitable investment so here comes the whales.

I chose functionality. Bitcoin gain influence because of its function to serve its clients. When Bitcoin gain influence because of its function, it attracts more whales. So in my own perspective, the reason is functionality why bitcoin is known and still at the top among all cryptos.
