Depends entirely on what you mean by "fail you". Depends on your circumstance. Crypto will grow, today it is pretty reliable in a sense it does store value well, payments aren't so bad with sending / fees, depending on the coin, you own it...there are stable coins pegged to fiat, some are insured (TrueUSD). It isn't bad, will be better. All I would say is don't "bet" on crypto being a financial ticket, in terms of gains. Yes, there are good investments, but bare in mind also bad...very bad. More research you do in this space, you will see it in a better light, and hopefully not fail you, by your definitions
