That is what everyone is hoping for.  We all want the best of this forum.  I know perfect forum is not possible but we can make it more better than now.

Positive karma is very desired by everyone, so members will compete to post good and useful topics in the forum. I think the admin has understood why the identity of someone who gives karma will be hidden.

Maybe or maybe not, some may awfully give karma and others may keep giving karma. It is really hard to say that someone deserves karma for doing nothing and the other half some may be considerate of giving karma. If we have no hopes of having karma at all then why would we wait in receiving it? Many users think that karma is a point system where the more karma you get, the better you are posting. It a big no no for me. Karma is simply a reward system and it does not define any of your ranks. Well, if you receive, so be it. If you do not receive so be it too. Don't aim in achieving karma. Aim to help without wanting to receive it.

Maybe all the same you are wrong.  After all, there is such a problem on bitcointalk and merit became necessary to pump a rank to participate in bounty, here you don’t need karma for this, so I don’t think people will give you karma if you write something really useful!

I think altcointalk will make a rule like bitcointalk very soon. May be starting next year.  If so the use of karma will be abused more and more because of rank up. If we carefully handle the situation from now then we don't have to face the problem in the future.

It's not a big issue now but it will be in future.  Most of the members know that there will be a rule like bitcointalk in near future.  Most of the members will face the problem if altcointalk rank down for having less karma then they required. As the popularity increases of this forum the rules will be more strict.

I think karma is not misused. And maybe someday karma will be very valuable.
At this time someone who can give their karma does not give it away uselessly. But they give it to topic that are of good quality and help other member.

The number of karma giving by members are very low here. Most of the time good post never get any karma. For this lots of people get discouraged.  I also see that many people getting karma by their friends without having any good topic or post.Also many stupid post by high rank members but they don't get any negative karma.I think Admin must be careful about it or the forum will loose it's popularity.

Karma getting abused by other members because for them to secure themselves when this forum needs karma requirements to rank up.

The solution to this problem is an indication where, who and what post you get the karma just like on bct for us to see the karma history of a member and by this members with suspicious karma can be review on the forum court

Since the karma is not public, I don't quite understand why you can see those unreasonable things but for my case, I got a number of karmas for my posts. It's hard to force people giving karma but that's better in comparison with giving the right to judege "how is quality" in a group of people called "merit sources" as in the forum X.

Not sure if those changes will be implemented, karma will be abused or not. And if it will, I don't know how we can prevent since only admin can see how the karma moves from one person to another.

Not entirely true. There are bounty campaigns that require participants to have a neutral of positive karma before they can join, a negative karma during the campaign will get them kicked out.

I have given out karma not because they need it here, I have given because I think they deserve it.

OP, judging by your rank, you are eligible to give karma already, have you used it?

Sometimes receiving karma done accidentally and not willingly due to effortless rewarding to anybody. Clicking the THANKS and PUNISH can instantly be to anyone else who were victim. That's the scenario that I've observed.

I am curios about the karma given "accidentally". Has it happened to you already? Have you given out karma to a wrong post or comment? From what I know, you can always reverse the thank or punish you've given.
