Hey, it is this time again. Cryptocurrencies are freaking out and articles pop out everywhere about what you should buy and what is great. So it is no surprise that I write an article. As usual, it is written from an idiot for idiots. The idea for this article is very old, exactly 3 years ago someone responded to my Cosmos article, asking what is the difference between Cosmos, Ark, Aion, ICON, and Wanchain. I was surprised that the question did not include Polkadot. So I also responded that Polkadot should be in the comparison since it is the only project en par with Cosmos. The others seemed to be not a real competition. Dfinity was also on my
mind back then as something that has its own valuable ideas and does not jump on the interoperability hype train without its own ideas. However, now 3 years later, turns out most of these mentioned projects do not have much relevance left except for Cosmos and Polkadot, so let’s have a look. And Ethereum of course. What else can you expect from this article here? More understanding of shards, interoperability, and state-of-the-art proof-of-stake. Nice!
Why exactly these 3 projects? To me these seem to be the three main players when it comes to being a platform that has interoperability, scaling and the appropriate ecosystem. I have done a lot of research, re-read their whitepapers, all kind of other documentation and tried to get a decent insight. However since this is so much stuff, this article will only scrape the surface and I will always be biased. I try to be not biased, but I’m a human and also work with one of the technologies in my blockchain based game project (
www.crowdcontrol.network), so at the end of the article you can guess which technology I actually use. If you guessed it right, please flame me in the comments.
