Binance wants to delist monero
« on: February 06, 2024, 10:50:49 AM »
Binance wants to delist some shitcoins as usual as exchanges are doing. List and later delist a coin or token. But this time, Binance included the privacy coin, monero to be delisted.
These are the coins Binance wants to delist:

🔸 $ANT
🔸 $MULTI
🔸 $VAI
🔸 $XMR

https://twitter.com/binance/status/1754764386831347865?t=2Sv1BVtmPbVJ-JOS6I3UBQ&s=19

It is very disappointing to see such a thing, but that is what a centralized exchange can do. There are many exchanges to access monero even if all centralized exchange delist it.

Binance finally doing this delisting of monero is actually a great news and proof that nobody really traced any monero transactions.
Price did dump for almost 40% and I think this is also a good for everyone, developers will have to speed up works on more decentralized exchanges.
Wait a few weeks and check how monero is performing on dex and other small exchanges ;)

Most likely, the XMR price will soon be back to the range that was before the Binance announcement.
As for other exchanges, it is worth noting that XMR trading pairs are still available on such centralized exchanges as Kukoin, MEXC, Gate, Kraken, HTX, and others. I wouldn't say these exchanges are small, as they have a multi-million daily trading volume on the XMR/USDT trading pair.

Realistic value should be much higher for monero.
I don't trust anything presented by centralized exchanges and CMC that is owned by binance.
Everyone knows they can fake the volume and create artificial prices for any coins, but they are doing everyone a favor with delisting monero.
Time for developers to work on more dex solutions.

I don't think it is a good idea to rely on a centralized platform to access coins like Monero, to be honest. I second the opinion that people should move to DEX regardless of what Kucoin, MEXC, etc do. That being said, I'm sure those who really value privacy already do that before this notice. So maybe traders are the ones who are heavily affected, especially if they bet that Monero's price will increase due to more exchanges listing them. CMIIW.

According to some allegations, Monero was the source of the black money that entered Binance. It will be delisted on 20.02.2024. We will see if there will be a change in Binance's volume after Monero is delisted. In the meantime, after falling as low as $ 100, it faced a good reaction purchase and went up to $ 135. It is currently $120. I think Monero is a pioneer in its field. Ethereum is the Layer 1 king, Dogecoin is the meme king, and Monero is the privacy coin king. Despite this delist news, I think it will remain popular...

It doesn't surprise me that Monero is delist. Because there was already an allegation of money laundering for Binance. Since Monero is a privacy-oriented coin, I think it is right that it is delisted by Binance.
The most important thing is, will other stock exchanges make delist decisions from now on? What use will Monero be if it is delisted from other exchanges? I am someone who advocates that cryptocurrencies should have a privacy aspect, but unfortunately states do not favor privacy-focused cryptocurrencies.

Actually, since Binance is the number 1 exchange and almost a monopoly, there is always a significant reduction in the volume of tokens delisted from Binance, but since Monero is a coin with a special user base, it may continue to be in demand on other exchanges. However, governments and regulators will undoubtedly put pressure on other exchanges. Privacy coins will continue to be a problem, unfortunately. At the end of the long term, we have no alternative but decentralized exchanges.

Binance wants to delist some shitcoins as usual as exchanges are doing. List and later delist a coin or token. But this time, Binance included the privacy coin, monero to be delisted.

It is very disappointing to see such a thing, but that is what a centralized exchange can do. There are many exchanges to access monero even if all centralized exchange delist it.
I believe Binance has no other choice. Binance is a CEX and needs to comply with anti-money laundering regulations, Binance does not want to have to pay an 4B USD fine again in the future. Monero's anonymous advantages make it difficult to gain acceptance by governments, and the XMR token will be forced to be delisted from major CEXs. I hope that XMR will continue to be traded on other exchanges and have good liquidity to provide anonymity to crypto users.

XMR price was hit hard after Binance's announcement, it tested the bottom it created in June 2022. I'm worried that XMR will miss the uptrend in 2024-2025.

Appreciate you sharing this update with us. It's certainly disheartening to learn about Binance's plan to delist Monero and other coins. Such decisions, while within their purview as a centralized exchange, can be frustrating for users invested in these assets.

Re: Binance wants to delist monero
« Reply #11 on: February 14, 2024, 02:34:44 AM »

They wont really be having no choice but to comply on whats been mandated or simply with the regulation that had been set. I'm living on a place or country on which they are bounding to
ban Binance completely here in our country which this is really disheartening at the same time its disappointing. I've been using up this platform for 6 years and i didnt have any
issues on using up this platform or simply have that good user experience and didnt experience any issues or hassles. It is really just that sad that they would really be that prohibited
now to be used here in our country. As for delisting privacy coins then its not really something shocking anymore. Government doesnt really like on things on which they cant be able
to control or be able to check it out. So they would really be putting up focus into those centralized platforms.

So they get delisted on the 6th of FEB drop to $101.72

here we are on the 13th and they are back to 128.25

this looks like a coin to buy.  But where to get some without listed exchanges.  Where to hold it once you get it.

and are you painting a target on you back if you get some?

You could try mining it.

All centralized crypto exchanges are primarily businesses, and their main goal is to make a profit. So it is expected that they will obey and fulfill all the requirements of regulators just to keep their business. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if other centralized exchanges start to delist XMR and other anonymous cryptocurrencies in the same way.

this looks like a coin to buy.  But where to get some without listed exchanges.  Where to hold it once you get it.
There are few more centralized exchanges with Monero, biggest one is Kraken, than Kucoin, Gate, Mexc, etc. but I would use decentralized exchanges and p2p trading instead.
Best wallet for storing monero is open source hardware wallet Trezor, alternative is Onekey and ledger s.
There are plenty of software wallets that can be used for spending.

and are you painting a target on you back if you get some?
How would they even find your back, when they obviously can't track monero?
