⚙️ Here comes the latest news from the APIZ laboratory by
Lilian Otel, the Head of Telemetry Department
Though the climate conditions paused the direct telemetry testing on the apiary, the intense activity is still boiling inside the APIZ laboratory.
Our engineers are working closely on telemetry prototype version 2.0., bearing in mind the first results. In order to optimize and enhance the device we have implemented the following steps and solutions:
✅ We have significantly expanded the remote communication radius between the central data hub and the remote devices by switching on MESH networking.
✅ The implementing of new sensor design and controller installation has significantly improved the moisture resistance of the device.
✅The application of a new heat-resistant type of plastic has eliminated the thermal deformation of the telemetry device.
✅ We have also succeeded to reduce the size, weight and the production costs of the device by the upgraded design.
✅ The installation modules of weight sensors are enhanced in a way to eliminate errors and sinking under the excessive honey weight in a hive.
✅ We have discontinued the usage of connectors in the interior part of the device, consequently improving data accuracy and device reliability.
⏳At the moment we are still working on a telemetry new prototype, based on previous experience and first testing results. Once beekeeping season begins, we will initiate testing of the new telemetry version 2.0. Stay tuned to be updated on the progress!
