ICOs in 2017 seemed to faced less less challenges because the issue of scam and fake projects weren't on the peak as compared to this year, 2018. Lot of attention drew to cryptocurrency because of the bull market on December, 2017 and January, 2018 that thrilled the entire world. Fraudsters and scammers set in the scene to loot from investors by creating fake projects. Governments also set to ban lot of crypto activities because they fear the power it was giving to the people.
All these negative factors pushed away investors and potential investors because they feared to lose their investments.

Crypto investment is not entirely fixed to ICOs. There are valuable coins on the market that makes perfect portfolios for investment now. Large cap coins like Ethereum, Bitcoin, Ripple, EOS are good choices now because the prices are relatively low but have all the capabilities of recovering and hitting new high prices on the market.
