TrustWallet / Re: Is trust wallet secure?
« Last post by Charles-Tim on Today at 06:35:37 PM »
P.S. Question, is BlueWallet a cold wallet? I haven't heard of it before.  :o
It is a mobile wallet. If you're interested in a mobile wallet, you can check out their Github and build it on your own. It is the alternative for closed-source mobile wallets like TrustWallet on Android and iOS. AFAIK, it is quite popular.
Bluewallet is not only a mobile wallet. Although, it is not having Windows and Linux versions but it has macOS version which is a computer OS for Apple. Bluewallet is not an alternative to Trustwallet because it is a far better bitcoin wallet. Trustwallet is close source and not have 30% of the bitcoin features that Bluewallet has.

News related to Crypto / Re: Russia prepares for total crypto ban
« Last post by Agbe on Today at 06:35:15 PM »
Banning cryptocurrency in Russia has been on the government agenda for years and they deliberated on it for several years now and inb2022 there was a news that Russia has banned Bitcoin but the individual users was still high. And the same thing will still happen. Now that they have publically announced it then it is the implementation that is left for them to do. But they can't ban the individual uses. People will still use it through non custodial wallets. And the things they can possibly ban are Centralized Exchanges, and some altcoins projects. But they can ban bitcoin and non custodial wallets. So people will be using p2p without involving bank accounts.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: ordinals and inscriptions
« Last post by Lucius on Today at 06:34:24 PM »
clearly we are calm at the moment, there was also all the confusion due to the first block of the fifth era
I don't know if you know but now there are people who collect the famous rare satoshis, ordinals lists them and there are some rare and highly coveted ones
the first satoshi of the first block of the 5th era is rare, coveted and also very expensive so consequently there was competition to get it

Of course I know because this topic is also part of that story, and I really wouldn't have anything against everything if Bitcoin doesn't suffer direct damage because someone wants to profit from, let's be completely realistic and honest, completely meaningless things that someone decided to monetize.

There are technical possibilities for all this to take place on one of the alternative chains - but as we can see, all those who could do something there obviously only see profit and don't really care that ordinary Bitcoin users have problems because of all this.

Some people thought it could be up to 18 months when it has been known he was going to be sentenced in 2024. Some prosecutors demanded for 3 years sentencing, but he was only sentenced to 4 months in prison.

https://www.theverge.com/2024/4/30/24140638/binance-founder-changpeng-zhao-sentence-money-laundering

I guessed as much but I was expecting 6 months of sentence.

Why is there no bail time for this same man, he has done nothing wrong despite all the accusations, what they could have done is to make allegations on how Bitcoin has been used by some people and not to arrest him because exchange are not mixers and they have their regulations which counter some effects of anything related to money laundering, what is the use of their KYC and and the exchange AML security alert, I think they want more of using Binance for achieving some of their hidden agendas which seems not to turn out as expected.

Thanks for all your comments, as expected the negative news about crypto market lead to this dump in price of Bitcoin and most of the altcoins too, at the moment it's hanging at 57K ish but with the rate I expect atleast go near 50K then we might start the actual bull run for the cycle 2025.

Crypto Wallets / Re: Are you using Hardware Wallets?
« Last post by Charles-Tim on Today at 06:30:23 PM »
Under the non custodial means of storage, we can decided to go for cold storages and they appears in categories, part of which is hardware wallet and that is if we are being capable of securing one from a reliable source, then we can choose other reliable means to store our crypto asset aside the use of hardware wallet, we cannot conclude on that its everyone that actually like any wallet under hardware category, we can go for other cold storages as we may want.
Not all hardware wallets can be considered as cold wallet, the only ones that can be considered as cold storage without much investigation are the airgapped hardware wallets. A Ledger wallet that you can share your seed phrase to third parties online, can that be considered as cold wallet? No. But you can consider hardware wallet like Passport as a cold wallet.

The race of crypto to all about updates, study and strategies. You only beed to keep the trade on base on different categories of currencies. Crypto  currency induced users to logically explore in any means profitable. Just take your time and don't be too greedy.

That's the main problem, most traders who get into the market newly don't give it enough time, they rush into the market and start making trades right away when they are supposed to learn and gather knowledge at first, but since they are greedy and want to start making money at the earliest, they don't wait and do the right thing, they realize their mistake later when they start losing money.

New traders need to learn a lot of things, and the very first thing that they need to learn is that they can't start earning money without knowledge and that they need to learn everything first to be able to stay and maintain a profitable journey in this industry.

I believe he might not publicly be the CEO when he is finally out of Jail but all the moves will be done by him silently because only him understand the dynamics of Binance from when it was launched and to where it is right now.
Exactly when he finally served the jail term completely and come out, and as the founder and co worker of the company, he will not just abandon the company like that though he might not work directly with them but he will work from home. I was also thinking that he would be jailed for years and they only sentenced him for four months, he has luck and one thing is that since he agreed that he was guilty of the crime and didn't deny it so they reduced the jailed term for him. And after then will let him go and told him to sin no more  ;D. The role he is going to play , he is to develop Binance, and to monitor the company and will be a consultant.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Future of Bitcoin
« Last post by Metha Wulandarin on Today at 06:21:01 PM »
The bitcoin technology is in our hands, we have the right  of making decision on how we want to have its impact on our lives, if we go by in the continuation for its adoption, then its going to be sustainable for us to use, but when people are not supporting the use of the technology and there is no increasing rate of adoption over the coin, then it may not be as that easy for us to see it getting to the right peak it could have attained if there were more bids for adoption, so we determine the future and how it stays to remain relevant through our adoption.
For now only people who have high confidence in Bitcoin are interested in adopting Bitcoin because some people think Bitcoin is too expensive even though Bitcoin has great potential to reach the price of $100k.
