Crypto investment is not entirely fixed to ICOs. There are valuable coins on the market that makes perfect portfolios for investment now. Large cap coins like Ethereum, Bitcoin, Ripple, EOS are good choices now because the prices are relatively low but have all the capabilities of recovering and hitting new high prices on the market.

People want a ridiculously high return on their investment, and they want it quick.  The only possibility is with an ICO.  Nothing else out there is going to go 100x in any likelihood, so people turn to gambling on ICOs.  It's not necessarily gambling though, if you do your due diligence.

Trends of investing in ICOs looks like already over. I see many investors prefer to choose top altcoins right now. That's why many ICOs fail to reach their targets on token sales.

ICO remains the first stage a crypto project will or may pass through  for it to kick start. since it involves raising funds for the project. that is why people always see it as the bead rock for cryptos. besides so many people are scared of trading. they don't want to learn how to trade.

With the introduction of the IEO market and most regulatory bodies going against many Ico's, the ico's will soon be a by gone issue because of the many scammy ico's in the cryptocurrency space.. I believe ico's will soon be something of the past in years to come.

Yeh I agree, already ICO's without any "real" backing (private investors, exchange support, advisors, etc) are unable to raise any real funds, sometimes raising only thousands of $ rather than the millions they intend to. Those that have financial/partnership backing, are now more likely to pursue an IEO for their own benefits too.

The concept in investment is not only about ICOs, but it is also about how to get coins at lower prices and then trade the coins at high prices. People choose ICOs because the price of ICO coins is cheap. But now, people prefer to choose IEOs or STOs. Those offer more secure assets.
