Title: [Error] "No Subject Was Filled In" Error
Post by: Igebotz on April 06, 2024, 08:41:32 PM
Anyone experienced this blank error while posting? This is the second time I'm experiencing this, other time I cleared the whole thing and requote again and it worked, did the same today and it didn't work. Delete, write again, preview isn't working.... I keep getting the "No subject was filled in" error.

Yes, I am. I have faced this problem several times where after writing a full post Preview option was not working and showed the same interface as the screenshot you have shown. And later I had to go to the Quarantine & Test Area board and edit it again and again to make the topic or post correct.
I still don't know what the cause of this problem is but it's good that you brought it up. Since I don't face this issue in a few days, so I didn't make any report on this regards.

This strange to me, I have not experienced this type except the common one "while you were ready, someone has posted" is it that, it happens only in selected accounts? But I have experienced it in BTT that after trying and clicked the post button then it would write, "this thread does not exist" and that means either the thread was locked or deleted or moved out from the original position and i think that is what happened to the thread you were committing on. And as Admin said "Moved to Bug", meaning it is no longer there again. But yours strange because as you said, it happened and you rewrite it again and it goes so that is another explanation needed.

[..snip..]
This has happen to me multiple times as well, so I learned to just copy first my reply or used preview before. Question though, are you using Tor by any chance? Because I only experienced it when I used Tor, but when I try with clearnet, everything seems to be normal.

Same issue here, but only when I try to click on "Preview", frequently it gives me this error message

I'm getting this error at least once in a day when i'm active posting, it's when i'm using the "modify" button in the lower left side of the post, not when posting new reply/post or using the modify button in the upper right.

Like everyone else I also faced that error many times. When I write my post and when I'm about to post it then I face that error. However, in 2nd attempt of posting that post I never faced that error. It's a 1st attempt that gives the error sometimes.

Weird, I haven't face this issues since I started posting in this community. But it seems that there are a lot that have seeing this error. Even if I click preview, it's fine with me.

Let's wait for the findings of the admin, looks like intermittent error or most likely this error occurs when the forum is heavy with a lot of users online.

This happens when there is an emoji in the text of a message or in its title, something like 👓 ✏️. When you go to the preview page it won't work, but if you will tap a Post button, the message will be posted without any problems. If you don't want to see this error, you can remove all emojis from the text and the title.

Many thanks for this explanation!
I use a lot "preview" and this will be very useful to me!

Well, it must be something strange, because it happens to me more when I'm on clearnet than when I use Tor, exactly the opposite of what happens to you. So it leads me to think that it is possibly a browser problem, since it has also happened to me (on clearnet much more) even without using the emojis that @Jokers mentions.

What browser do you use for clearnet @Jating?

No Tor- I'm using clearnet( Chrome ) to browse on the forum .

Yes the said post has emojis -  I experimental it with this post, there are emojis and it prompted the same " No Subject Was Filled In" error so I went ahead to Press the "post" and it worked.

Now you have to admit to everyone, are you trying to test and break the forum Sheriff?  ;D
This bug never happened to me because I didnt use so much emoojis in my post, like I use them in bitcointalk forum.
Dont experiment to much with altcoinstalks forum. and you will be fine.

Not me; a few others on my local board engage with unusual emojis. I'd always had this problem, but I wasn't sure it was important to talk about until it became a problem. It's a bug, and until the admin fixes it, I'd just follow Jokers' advise. I'm here to help everyone stay together.  :D

I also thought of posting this problem, looks like you did first. Yes, I am facing the same issue. The preview button simply don't work at certain times. If I try to preview, it will show a message saying "The message body was left empty", even though the body is full of contents. Weird bug.

Note: I'm using Chrome and always connected to VPN when accessing the internet.

I tested it. Emoji or no emoji, if it's inside the body, the preview button still works. But if I put the emoji inside the title/subject this error occurs. Note that even after reverting back to original title the error remains.
