Another Naira speculator and manipulated is here on OKX- these are one of our problem and why OKX and other exchanges needs to moderate the Naira p2p from Marchants like this. This is outrageous, the current rate is still between N1250 -N1350 and this guy is already selling at N1500, this will no doubt push others to increase their rate to meet demand. OKX might be another target is this continues.... Na we be our own problem Las Las.

He is not selling but buying, that is, the dude is buying dollars at the rate of #1510 per $1, is this really an issue?

If he is willing to pay #1510 to buy the dollar when others are buying same dollar at #1350 or there about, don't you think thats his business and cup of tea? Market is all about competition, and in the p2p market, the better offers stays at the top, maybe this dude wants to buy as much dollar as possible at that rate because he believes the dollar will rise even much more than that, allow him, it's his risk and loss if eventually dollar fail to reach that amount again.

CBN bans Moniepoint, Opay, Kuda, others from taking new customers over cryptocurrency involvement
Central Bank of Nigeria has stopped the Social Media or Online Banking system or apps to register new member to the banking system. According to them, those Banks are use to manipulate the Naira through the cryptocurrency market. Why Nigerian government is doing all this to suffer the innocent people? Nobody is manipulating the naira but the government himself. Only one policy can settle everything and they don't want to do it but busy playing blame game with the cryptocurrency participants because they are benefiting from the rising of dollar.
This news went viral yesterday, and it's clearly very unfortunate that even in times when things are very hard in Nigeria, that the government should be all hands on deck seeking out possible solutions that will once and for all, settle the unrest in the country, they are busy chasing clout, how can they possibly think that the dollar rising against the naira is as a result of people manipulating the naira through online banking systems? Oh, right now, it's no longer Binance, it's now opay, moniepoint and the others? This government is really tiring.
And that new cbn governor, e be me like say that man never really know him left from right, make them dey busy dey chase clout while the dollar keep rising, soon, e go enter #2000 again, and then #3000.
I tire for Nigeria government I swear 🤬

Reputation, Scams & Phishing / Re: Yo mix scam for 1.6 btc
« on: May 02, 2024, 09:43:13 AM »
Hmm, I think it's not right to try to force yourself if you are good with English, use google translator, type in GT in your local language and let the software translate that to proper English for you, so that your readers can better make sense out of your post.

In all that you said above, I only understood that yomix (which is a bitcoin mixer) scammed you off your 1.6 bitcoins, how this happened? You didn't say, or may I did not understand that part.
But all the same, thanks for warning the community,
I will advice you move this thread to the Reputation, Scams & Phishing board, and also provide some evidence of proof to support your claim, would help alot if you can, so that users, and possible users of this mixer won't have any reason to doubt your claim..

Sorry for your loss anyway.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: ATH of bitcoin 2025 ??
« on: May 02, 2024, 09:30:36 AM »
There's really a lot of tension in the market right now and so Manny Investors have grown anxious about the future of Bitcoin since this wasn't what they initially had in mind, some investors were actually caught in the middle of the Bitcoin Halving hype and so their expectations after the halving was for the market to be in continuous green, but seeing all the red has made so many of them very anxious.
Yeah, if Bitcoin fails to reach a new ATH by the end of this year or possibly starting of next year up to the middle and still nothing, then that could be a sign that the current bull run is finally over and achieving another ATH in 2025 will appear to be quite challenging.
I will advice you speak for yourself and not for the general investors bud, as we can't really tell with certainty, what other investors are thinking or what they feel about the current condition of the market aside what we ourselves feel or think.

If you believe that there is alot of tension in market, and investors are anxious, then those investors must be newbie investors, for no bitcoin investor with good experience of the market will feel anxious or be in suspense as a result of the current condition of the market, if you yourself have good experience, you should understand and agree with me that this is a good buying opportunity for us all.

And I think its absolutely wrong to give bitcoin a time frame to reaching goals, doing this puts you and your bitcoin investment at risk, because there is the possibility that Bitcoin wont reach your set goal at the time you supposed it should, and this may make you dump your coins believing it's over, and just then, you will wake up the next day to see bitcoin above $100k with over +500% rise in less than 4 hours.
If you are investing in bitcoin, invest for the long term, and stop caring about short term gains.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Has the bear market started?
« on: May 02, 2024, 09:13:35 AM »
Bitcoin price touched $65k to $56k in just two days. Bitcoin price is in full bearish current position, maybe we are going to reach bull run very soon. Do you think we are headed for a bitcoin bull market or a bear market?
It's hard to say but if I must be sincere with myself, I did say what I truly believe, and what I truly believe at  the moment is that, bitcoin is looking more bearish than bullish, though I understand that many will see the current downtrend as a correction from the highs we seen in the past weeks, which I will also assume is correct, but all the same, the current condition of the market isn't a bad thing, intact, for me, I see it as an opportunity to not only accumulate more bitcoin at cheap rates, but also, it's a good opportunity for me to buy more of the altcoins I've always thought I don't have enough of, so that when the bull run finally arrives, I have nothing to regret at all.

This is a very good opportunity for us all reposition well for the coming bull run, I expect bitcoin to still go down a bit, maybe reach around $50k, before it shorts up again and takes its jornuey to above $100k.
Cross your fingers and watch this happen in the coming weeks.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: SHOULD I CARE ABOUT BITCOIN HALVING
« on: May 02, 2024, 09:04:31 AM »
It's clear Bitcoin Miners are at present earning 6.25 BTC from new block they create and that reward will be reduced to 3.125 BTC from my readings. So how does making BTC scarcer benefit crypto traders generally?
Well, good thing you used you used the word "generally", for this makes answering the question a bit more easier 😅.

The thing is, the scarcier bitcoin is or becomes, the more volatile the market becomes with every buy and sell trade that is executed,  and you and I know that, the more volatile the market is, the more it becomes profitable for traders, that is, It becomes easier for traders to trade and make profit in the shortest period of time.

And it doesnt end at the above, scarcity also improves or increases the value of an asset when demand for that asset grows.
So, we can say that, with less number of bitcoins entering circulation on daily basis as a result of the halving, there is the chances that the price of bitcoin will grow significantly from its current levels when more demand for it appears.
I hope this is clear enough.

I love the fact you talked about the swiftness of the support team. Many establishment takes this lightly but this is a very serious aspect of their relationship with the customers

Using financial sensitive platforms like Bitcoin mixers requires lots of security consciousness. And I won't personally trust a random person compared to the support team. So if the support team works fine then it's a big plus to the project.
The relationship between the customers and an established enterprise need to be strong to ensure there is a mutual bond that will keep users to continue using such service to get their problem solved without any negative experience. Since we have so many mixers online that users can set their hands on to mix coins, it is advisable for a good mixer to create a continuous bond with users to keep the inflow much constant.

New users especially the ones that are new to mixing might find the process uneasy making some complicated mistakes that could lead to lose of fund or difficulty in output. This would never be a difficulty task to be resolved by good and reliable mixer which is the reason why one need to use a good mixer for conjoining of coins.
If we are to be talking about easy to use mixers, then I can you tell that Unijoin is definitely one of the those, in fact, one of the best in this regard, the step by step procedure to mixing coins ensures a very easy to understand process, guarantees zero mistakes what so ever, except the user wasn't paying enough attention and mistakenly submitted a wrong address in the process, that can I believe can still be fixed if the users notice it on time when mixed coins havent been sent to the wrong address, but let's say this somehow results in the lose of fund, this absolutely Is no fault of the mixer as we all can agree.

So, in all, I agree wit all that you said, the coinjoin service is one that is beginning to look like online gambling casinos with new mixers launching almost every day, But then, the best mixers will always survive no matter how high the competition gets.

And I was just about coming here to create a similar thread announcing that Bitcoin price is finally gone below the $60,000 range which many assumed to be the support, and I can't help but ask, what exactly is causing this seemingly steady decline?, is this still a healthy correction or is there to this?

Personally, I am not bother at all, for I have been in crypto since 2016 and have seen and witnessed worser times, I am just trying to understand if there could be a good reason for the decline, so as to know if it's time to buy more bitcoins, or just wait for it to decline further.

Anyways, I learnt that CZ sentencing is happening today and now( if not over already; actually), could this have contributed to the general market major downturn we experienced today?

At first, people completely wrongly estimated the effects of spot ETFs in the US, and now they think that everything is over and that they should wait the next four years for a new bull run. Maybe there really won't be a big bull run this year or next year, maybe history won't repeat itself, but that's the risk of all those who invest in Bitcoin just to make a profit.

In addition, I used to tell people that if they can't invest in BTC for a period of at least 3-4 years, to spare themselves the trouble and annoyance and the expectation that they will become millionaires overnight. There's a lottery for that sort of thing, and many of us will be betting our lucky numbers and hoping to become millionaires this week, right?
Lol 😂, very well said bud, unfortunately, as long as the cryptocurrency market is open for everyone 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, we can never do away with people who will invest a hundred dollar today and expect to cash out a hundred thousand dollars tomorrow, seeing that things like this used to happen in the early day of bitcoin and the crypto market at large, most especially with altcoins, people think it's still possible for such to happen even now that the market have become more matured, especially when ever they hear or learn that Bitcoin halving is approaching, some people with experience in the market actually do not invest in bitcoin until halving is close, because based on previous circles, bitcoin always pumps sometime after halving lol,  and when sometime, the pump seems like it's not happening, they begin to ask questions like I was asked 😂.

Anyways, we never can get rid of such people from the market, it absolutely normal thing if you ask me.

Hi ladies and gentlemen, greeting to everyone.

I am coming with a concern, we all know how big Solana blockchain have grown to become since the beginning of this year, and how popular it has become as well, which I believe we all can agree and give courtesy to meme coins as the sole foundation to how popular the Sol network have become.

Being a good user of dextools and Dexscreeener myself, I can tell you all that a meme coins is been launched in Sol network almost every second of a ticking clock, and no doubt, this has propelled Sol tokens to its new height, since alot if meme coin lovers are buying Sol, which is used as transaction fees on the Sol network.

But then, I fear for Sol coin, and the Solana blockchain in general, for I believe that at some point in the future, meme coins will fade away, not completely, but they will possibly seize to become as popular as they are right now, and by then, not many new memecoin will be birthed on the Sol network, what then becomes of Solana? Since based on my personally research, there are just a few utility projects have built on Solana, the rest are all meme coins.

Do you think that in the coming 10 years from now, Sol token will still be as, or more valuable as it is today, and the Solana block chain still be relevant and useful to and for the crypto community?

Let's discuss about this if you don't mind.

Meme Coins / Re: Solana MemeCoins And Its Continued Growth; $MANEKI.
« on: April 30, 2024, 09:48:01 PM »
For persons invested in trading memes, these themes often help propel the growth of meme tokens. Thus far, it has earned Bitget listing. I'll truly want to know your thoughts about $MANEKI and Solana Gems generally.
Well, for Maneki - which is said to be a Chinese based meme coin themed to mean Goodluck as you mentioned, I think this is just another one Solana based meme coins that managed to pull through into a centralized exchange listing amongst the millions that have failed to achieve same result.
And biget seem to be the very first centralized exchange this meme coins always gets listed on, though I have heard the name, "Maneki" mentioned by to notable people I follow on X, I personally have not really taken the time to find out more about this coin, but I wouldn't immediately trust it will do well, not until it captures the attention of another exchange listing in the top 10 centralized exchanges.

And speaking on Solana meme coins in general, sorry to say but their are shit, and the fact that solana have become a meme coins dominated blockchain even looks dangerous for the blockchain, for what happens to them when the meme narrative eventually fades away?

Meme Coins / Re: Started by two whales who know how to HODL
« on: April 30, 2024, 09:38:00 PM »
At this point, I have to say that 99.9 percent of all Solana based meme coins have become nothing but absolute nonsense, developers seem to have all run out of ideas on what funny names to call their new meme coins which is created for no other intention other than to scam people.

I love meme coins, but right now, Ive resolved to not buy new Solana meme coins anymore, but rather hold the quality ones I've bought previously, I have lost a good sum of money trying to buy into the next billion dollar market cap meme coin while it's still at $10,000 market cap, I am tired of trying and right now, I am happy to return back to investing in only quality projects.

Thank you very much NotATether..
++ for I consider this a very vital information passed to this community here, I need not say that I am very familiar with Wasabi wallet, I was one of their signature ad participants way back then when they first began promoting their service on bitcointalk, and like you said, they were considered as one of the best bitcoin wallet for the bitcoin community.
And I also knew when the whole about them blacklisting UTXOs started, it's a thing the community on bitcointalk frowned at, but like every persons who ran a centralized service, it was hard for them to turn back, which means that they will ultimately lose the power of control, or being in charge, just exactly the same type fear the government have if they allow crypto to dominate over fiat.

Wasabi wallet coming out now to shut off US users proves one thing, and that is that they are centralized, and I believe this should act as a proof to all that have defended Wasabi all this years, I stopped using this wallet a long time ago by the way, I will advice users here who value their privacy and anonymity to also adhere to this advice.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: Anonymity - good or bad?
« on: April 30, 2024, 09:09:32 AM »
However, this anonymity has its downsides, it's easy to get scammed. Additionally, there are legal concerns, especially regarding taxation. Some countries are even reducing anonymity to prevent tax evasion. What do you think is a good balance between maintaining privacy and reducing potential misuse in the crypto space?
If we are to talk about the physical world where we all live, I would not see anonymity as such a good thing because just like you said, people can easily get scammed, a person can easily impersonate another person, commit a crime and disappear, and the person who was impersonated will be arrested, prosecuted for a crime he or she knows nothing about, this and many more are the disadvantages of anonymity in the physical world, and I would say that they are too enormous, that is, the disadvantage outweighs the advantage, so, anonymity in the physical world is not advised.

But coming back to online and to crypto in particular, anonymity is a very good thing,  keeping your true identity a secret helps prevent other online users from using your personal details for illegal activities, I've seen some persons download other people profile pics from platforms like Facebook, x, and use the Pic as their own profile Pic in their account, using that same account to scam other online users.
So, keeping your identity hidden online is a good thing I personally would encourage, and about scam, it's our individual responsibility to ensure our online safety, trust no one and trust no offer, no matter how good it appears to be.

Cryptocurrency discussions / Re: What tokens are trending?
« on: April 30, 2024, 08:55:58 AM »
Guys let's talk about trending tokens. Recently , many tokens are thriving and have made their investors some good gains.
which ones are currently trending, and is it too late to invest in them?
Well, I have not read other people's comment on this to know what their contributions to this is, but personally, and based on my experience, investing in trending tokens doesn't or does not guarantee profit, in fact, it is actually risky to invest in tokens when they are trending, and this is because at this time, there is the chances that the price has gone up, and for the price of that coin or token to continue to go up, it depends on the utility and or community behind such project.

So, in the nutshell and to cut it all short, it is better to find coins or tokens and invest in them before they trend, so that when it gets to that stage where other people have discovered that coin or token, you are in a better position to decide whether to sell/take profit, or just keep holdling because you believe that the price of that coin or token will do way better in the future.
