[Basketball] NBA Discussion and Betting Thread
« on: November 12, 2020, 06:18:45 PM »
There's a lot of rumors going around the NBA ahead of the 2020-2021 season which is scheduled to start on December 22.

Let's discuss potential trades (as the new season approaches), game predictions, bets, and results all in this topic.

Who is/are the favorite/s to win next year? Too bad I can't add a poll for you to vote.
I'm a bit of a Kahwi fan that's why I still pick Clippers despite the changes in the coaching staff.

Just to give an update on the latest rumors:

1. Westbrook wants out of Houston and teams like Hornets are interested in signing him
2. Lakers looking to add more to their already stacked championship team with players like De Rozan (Spurs)
3. Celtics fell short against Miami last season and they plan on bolstering their squad by pursuing Jrue Holiday (Pelicans)

There are plenty more if you look around the internet.

Please note that these aren't verified yet (that's why we call them rumors anyway)  ;D

De Rozan is a very important and key player so that they can be winners, but I don't know if he will be able to join easily in the face of the team's needs, I have never bet on basketball, before that I want to do a special study on each team, taking advantage of my profession as an appraiser.

I agree with you. I don't bet a lot on basketball. But when I first bet on basketball, I lost about $2k. I did not have much research. However, at present some betting sites have not been able to earn. These are forbidden in my country. Basically sitting in the studio with friends on various play programs, watching games and betting. There are many bets in our country, but gambling is forbidden in our country.

The latest transfer

Quote
Thunder get Horford from 76ers (Dec. 8)
Thunder get:
    Al Horford
Theo Maledon (No. 34 overall pick in 2020)
Draft rights to Vasilije Micić (No. 52 pick in 2014)
    2025 protected first-round pick

76ers get:
    Terrance Ferguson
    Danny Green
    Vincent Poirer

I just read that Paul George signed a four-year extension with the Clippers for $190 million :o That's a bit too much for a player that's been under performing in the playoffs. Averaging 21.5 games last season but chokes on games that really matters.

Timely bump!

The opening games for the 2020-2021 regular season has concluded
  • Nets def Warriors (125-99)
  • Clippers def Lakers (116-110)

Serge Ibaka proving to be a good acquisition for the Clippers and Paul George showing his presence (finally). Defensive lineup that are also reliable scorers - this Clips team looks more balance now.

Nets on the other hand is too good offensively. Defense is okay.

But the last result counted by yesterday, 10 Nov, here are the results:
Bucks-76ers result 118-109
Hawk-Jazz result 98-110
And
Trail brazers - Clippers result 109-117
