Canelo Alvarez will once again be fighting on the weekend of "Cinco de Mayo" against another Mexican, not David Benavidez but Jaime Munguia. He has once said that he won't be fighting another Mexican but with the reason unknown to anyone, here he is now fighting Munguia lol.

I was thinking maybe a changing of the guard and Canelo wanted a fellow Mexican to take over but there's also the fact that Munguia is being promoted by Golden Boy. That's probably more of a reason why he agreed to the fight. It seems he's still not cool with Oscar De La Hoya and he wants to beat the face of their promotion.

Munguia is good, young, and aggressive with potential but he's not the one who's going to dethrone Canelo on his thrown, all I can be sure of is he will give Canelo a good fight and he might even score an upset, we all thought Bivol has no chance but he did beat Canelo.

From what I observed, it's possible that he might be thinking of his possible exit from boxing and he want his health to be intact and then at the same time, still making good money. I just hope that before he hang his gloves he will at least fight Bivol or Benavidez for his last fight. Might be good on how he ends his career.
