I think it will never be possible. Etherium ranks second in the cryptocurrency market. The price of etherium has gone up a lot. Etherium is one of the most popular coins in the world.So I don't think all the other coins no can leave Ethereum.

I don't believe new crypto will beat Ethereum at the market, As we all know Ethereum is superior and more popular than other altcoin. Ethereum is the second on CMC and always maintain its position be number two.

+ Cardano: I think this is the biggest competitor when they have strong updates, while also supporting code on Ethereum;
+ TRON: has a large community and is affirming its leading position in the entertainment industry;
+ Polkadot: new candidate, with good solutions related to scalability & security;

Competition is the driving force for growth, I think it's these competitors that made Ethereum 2.0 update.

Everything can be happen, but for the few years again, I don't believe new crypto can beat Ethereum in the market. We all know  Ethereum is always maintaining it's position as number second on CMC. That's a good performance.

If the new crypto is more potential and has a good time, I think It is possible. Because I see there are several potential new crypto but not popular as Ethereum. But I believe their popularity will increase by the time.

Now the capitalization of ethereum has reached $ 138 billion. Apart from the stablecoin USDT, ripple is the next largest coin with its 13.7 billion dollars. The difference is ten times, and this clearly indicates that so far ethereum has no direct competitors.

For the few years , I don't believe new crypto can beat Ethereum in the market. Because etehreum is still superior and has bigger communities. But, maybe at the coming future , it can happen. I hope we will see many petential altcoin at the coming future.

Nothing is impossible to cryptocurrency world.  But I think it’s so hard to any new crypto currency overtake Ethereum in times of price value.  Because Ethereum is one of the best coin in cryptocurrency market and it’s the mother of ICO.  In coinmarketcap list, Ethereum's position in second. So, it is so hard to any new crypto overtake this coin.
