coins or altcoins are created because of trends, so I will choose altcoins according to the current trend, for example the L2 coin trend, because ethereum transaction costs are high, I use Arbitrum, Linea, Manta to look for tokens and NfT to trade and I think I will hold for 5 next year, because no one knows when the coin price will  up or down

trending coins are good for short term investment and trading, but you can't hold them for long term. because if an altcoin is in trending now, that might  not be in trending after some months, which i think is probable.
so for HODLing purpose it is always better to pick those coins which are good for long term. which have use case for every time. like EVM blockchain coins such as ETH, BNB, Polygon.

If planning to hold ALT coins exclusively for a long time, my first choice would be Ethereum, BNB, Matic, XRP and other coins. Now many people may ask me why I mentioned the names of these coins when there are so many coins in the market and why I will hold these four coins for a long time instead of holding other coins for a long time. if it is about holding alt coins, then I would immediately think about top coins. not referring to new coins even though they are very famous and have gone up a lot recently. because the goal is for holding, I will choose the top coin and have a high market cap as well as strong use cases and fundamental points.

I don't think I'm the type to hold altCoins for a very long time. The longest may be 4 to 5 years, or depending on the bearish and bullish cycles of the era. so every time there is a white run, I will choose to take profit if possible and enter the target price that I want to achieve.[/list]

I am actually a Bitcoin person so I don't like to do much research on altcoins. But the recent market showed us a different scenario. Altcoins pumped the market and Bitcoin didn't show that much movement compared to it. Maybe now it's time to focus more on Altcoins.

But the question is, which is the best choice for long-term HODLing with Altcoins? If you are an experienced trader or investor, you can make a profit out of almost every coin by following the trend and hype but not everything is best for long-term holding. For this, I will suggest going for something that has a good history of being a long-term asset in the alternative crypto market.
But if you find something decentralized, you should choose that. They are the best for long term.

You may be right in the other things you said, but we still need to be more careful in choosing the altcoins that we choose, there are a few things you mentioned that are also what I am doing with DCA at the moment, and Matic is one of them because I can see this is a rally entering the right time of the bull run, to be honest.

And in these times, honestly speaking, I see a lot of potential altcoins that have the potential to make a good profit in the future. I just don't have enough money to buy these altcoins that I know are little by little. That's all I can do right now. I just hope I can accumulate all the altcoins I want to have.

I think in order to be willing to HOLD a token for a few months to a few years, investors need to conduct fundamental analysis to predict the long-term growth potential of that project: how big that field will be in the future, how many % of market share will the project capture, how much $B the total capitalization can reach. Without a well-founded belief, HOLDing a token is very difficult!

I'll give an example to illustrate: in my portfolio, DOT is a much weaker recovery token than AVAX and IMX. Many other investors sold DOT to invest in other tokens, and I congratulate them when they got higher profits than DOT holdings. Personally, I still believe in the future of cross-chain and the potential price increase of DOT in 2025. I'm not sure DOT can reach $200 in 2025, but I will continue to hold DOT until BTC shows signs of a reversal after creating the peak.

I have seen that things with Alts are very Different from how they are with bitcoin , for Example I am always aware of doing things well and trying to Win with the bitcoin mvoietosn, I don't think that Things with alts me go Wrong , at one time I didn't Maintain alts, but I think I bought at the worst time, when bitcoin was almost at $69k and then the market started to fall and I had to quickly sell my investment, at that time you had two Altcoins but I sold them and I changed them to USDT, which then BTC fell , I did see the movement.

I ask this because I know that altcoins when bitcoin goes down, altcoins bleed too much and that is something that is reflected insofacto , now , many are Waiting for the alt season , which if I am not mistaken since 2017 we have not seen it, that is something that we can notice and that some wait with a lot of patience, of course this is what I sense that can happen, it's not that it's what is going to happen, but I do know that Things for me with altcoins because I Always take more care of them, Trust is greater with Bitcoin.

Well that is a wiser course of action. Because I also do that. But I personally still have a medium term investment in altcoins. But I only buy when a big event is about to happen. Like Avax, where the fundamental news has clearly spread and also received confirmation. So when the price was still around 13 USD I entered and even now I'm still holding it. Apart from Avax, I also have other collections.

But mostly I only buy altcoins according to the trending season. And I always sell it immediately when I have a profit.

for me personally. not play for a yearly period for profit, but in % for profit if I have made a profit I will release my coins and buy them again when the price drops around 50% of the profit I made

you can choose the top coins in the big market, in Binance there are many potential coins with the largest community
one thing that the Binance team also gave the warning to the members which are the coins with high volatility. so you easy to hold good coins there
