Idea & Token
For this moment, there are 4,500+ different cryptocurrencies, only 1,400 of them are traded on exchanges, the rest are functionally dead. The crypto assets invested into the dead tokens are now trapped and cannot be transacted or traded. This a problem for cryptocurrency markets as well, because they suffer from the decrease of capital, resources, and reputation. CoinJanitor is aiming to exchange the dead tokens for its native Janitor (JAN) token. The received dead tokens will be burned. As a result, the lost value will increase, and the owners of JAN will be able to sell or exchange them for other cryptocurrencies. This way CoinJanitor is going to contribute to the network effect by uniting the fragmented communities and reusing the spent funds by reinvesting them into future projects. In addition, CoinJanitor will create its own network, a community of loyal users working together and therefore restoring the value of the crypto market.
Their utility token called JAN will be a deflationary asset pushing the prices up and creating comfortable terms for CoinJanitor to buy out subsequent failed projects. So the earlier user will buy JAN, the more benefit they will get, as JAN becomes more and more expensive. As CoinJanitor will buy out new projects, the interest to the project will grow engaging new user to the community. CoinJanitor plans to buy out 3 dead coins for the first 2 months.
A total supply is 100 million tokens. The distribution is as follows: 50% – sale, 30% – fund for purchasing dead coins, 10% – team, 5% – partners, 5% – bounty.
According to whitepaper, the unsold tokens will be airdropped to contributors.

JAN’s Value Proposition
First and foremost, JAN will increase in value because of the project’s unique community growth mechanism. Every time that CoinJanitor buys out an inactive project, that project’s coin holders will receive JAN tokens and be introduced to the CoinJanitor project. From there, they will face a choice between trading their JAN tokens for other currencies or holding.

What Happens When A Blockchain Project Fails?
Blockchain is the new buzzword. Everyone seems to want one these days, but most of the blockchain projects out there fail. When these projects fail, what happens with them? How about all the people who put money, effort, computing power or other resources into them?

A new project called CoinJanitor is the first to look at these issues and offer a user-friendly solution that will recycle the value trapped in these failed blockchain projects. CoinJanitor refers to these failed projects as dead coins, and it has a clever system to deal with them.

A Creative Concept from Seasoned Cryptocurrency Specialists
The idea comes from a team of highly reputable cryptocurrency specialists, led by Marc Kenigsberg, a notorious Bitcoin advocate, and early adopter. Marc Kenigsberg has been involved with the gambling industry since 1999 and was responsible for some of the largest brands in the world. 6 years ago, he became involved with Bitcoin and has been a passionate advocate ever since, launching BetChain, one of the biggest Bitcoin casinos in the space and Bitcoin Chaser, one of the biggest affiliate sites in the space.

Marc came up with the idea for CoinJanitor after a discussion about failed blockchain projects. No one really knows what happens when a blockchain project dies or how it failed. Nevertheless, there can be as many as 3,000 such projects, trapping value that can be recycled.

CoinJanitor, Forks, and Value to Investors!
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past year you’ve probably heard of the term ‘fork’. Fork’s came to fame in 2017 with it sparking great controversy throughout the crypto community and actually dividing many into separate camps. Ethereum faced a philosophical dilemma in early 2017 proceeding the infamous DAO hack that parted 50 million dollars from their investors. The dilemma was simple: roll back the chain until before the hack occurred and go on as if nothing had happened or continue the (then) main Ethereum blockchain and uphold the tenet of immutability. Eventually, the decision was made to opt for the former choice, but at much contention and the cost of many members of the Ethereum community leaving; a sizable number of the old Ethereum community have kept the original chain operating to this day, called Ethereum Classic.

Human psychology plays to JAN’s favor here, as most people will likely choose an inactive approach and hold on to their new tokens in hopes of regaining value rather than making the effort to trade them for pennies on the dollar relative to their initial holdings. Not only that, but it’s money that all of those coin holders will have assumed was lost when the original project failed. That further increases the odds that they would be willing to speculate on JAN’s value increasing rather than immediately cashing out for an insignificant sum. As a result of those factors, the CoinJanitor community will be constantly integrating new users under a single umbrella, contributing to a powerful network effect that increases demand for JAN with each project that the team buys out.

How will CoinJanitor Achieve its Goals?

CoinJanitor has already started gathering data to profile these dead coins, finding out which are the most valuable dead coins out there and how it can use those assets to create more value. A key component of this profiling exercise is to define what a dead coin is. CoinJanitor came up with the following 4 main features that allow it to understand which coins are dead and which it can buy out:

The dead coin has a market cap of $50,000 USD or less.
It is a PoW – Proof of Work – coin.
Said coin has been given an opportunity to succeed but has failed, so it has been in the market for 2 years or more.
The coin is not traded on exchanges.
Once CoinJanitor starts going through the lists it has compiled with coins that fit these conditions, it will start contacting the communities and creators of those coins to establish a buy-out agreement. Then it will proceed to take over those coins’ assets and decommission them. This includes burning all the coins it acquires during the buyouts, to effectively put the targeted dead coin to rest.
