Title: MINING on SERVER 2008
Post by: sgreen on February 15, 2018, 09:18:25 PM
Hi I have 4 Dell servers. I would like to use 3 of them to start mining. All have the Intel Processor XeonE5620 2.4Ghz, 12M Ca che, Turbo, HT, 1066MHz Max Mem and two 500G Hard drives in each. They have recently been retired from a business environment. The PowerEdge R410 was set up as the WEB Server and 2 of them are PowerEdge R610. One was set as the PDC and the other as Mail Server. Does anyone have experience with using these? Can I add a graphics card? Will the OS (Windows Server 2008SP2, Standard d x 64, Incl Hyper-V, Incl 5 CALs ) work with mining? Which mining program should I use? Any and all answers will be greatly appreciated. I was thinking of trying the Equihash for like BitCoin Gold.

I assume this set up would not profitable but I am curious to know the outcome of this mining project.

Have you OP finally fired up this servers as a mining equipment?

I hope you are checking your old threads  ;) .
