Bitcoin Forum / Re: Roger Ver has been arrested
« on: Today at 10:21:57 PM »
Likely won't be the 1st bitcoiner from the beginning that we see arrested for evading taxes. Government is always watching, people need to realize that. They're getting their piece regardless.
How can they charge him for avoiding taxes when he renounced US citizenship a long time ago?
He doesn't live there anymore, but problem is that he is a public figure and they don't like what he is saying, so fter so many years they just now decided to arrest him in foreign country.
Last thing I hear that he is now in the same prison as John McAfee in Spain, let's hope they won't kill him in similar way.

USDT Forum / Re: USDT is The Most Stable Coin?

I don't understand why people are surprised about possible ban and regulation of stablecoins, I always knew they are going to do this one day, especially since they are in hurry to start their CBDC crap soon.
Meanwhile people can use dollars and euros, they are ''safu'' regulated and they are going down all the time, that is the the only stabillity you will ever have with stable coins and fiat currencies  :P

I'm 99% sure this will be one hell of a conviction and prison term,  it's going to be really bad for the two above.
Yeah I think that also, unless their lawyers manages to do something amazing with support of community and other people who support Bitcoin and privacy.
I would not be surprised if they end up in similar way like Ross Ulbricht founder of Silk Road, just as an example to other developers.
Another interesting ''coincidence'' news I heard today about arrested Roger Ver, he is currently held in the same prison in Spain as late John McAfee... and we all know how they suicided him back in 2021.  :P

Even Bitcointalk did not go so far as to ban public speech about mixers outright
It would be crazy if they did that for mixers or for anything else, and if something like that ever happens people will just abandon their profiles gradually.
I would not like to be in position of theymos now, except maybe for the part of amount of bitcoins owned ;)
It's nice to see we have more freedom in AltcoinsTalks forum (for now).

Since I have not seen any country try to sanction people for talking about mixers (not even authoritarian states like Russia), I am led to the conclusion that such censorship is non-existent.
They are sanctioning talk about other subjects, so there is obviously censorship in different form and they can alwaas expand it.

Censorship itself does not prevent people from talking about something or discussing how a service works, but rather it prevents them from using it freely.
What?!  :o
Do you even understand what censorship even means?
You literally are not allowed to talk about specific subject at all.

Quote
Censorship is the suppression of speech, public communication, or other information.

I find it quite odd that more mixers aren't jumping in to fill the void left by their predecessors, though.
Maybe they are released but we didn't hear about them yet, and it takes time to built something that actually works for mixing and privacy.
They must be much better protected now if they want to survive attacks and seizure from regulators, and this is going to be even more intense in future.

I figure that the only way you are going to get something in this space through is by developing it under a pseudonym, like how Satoshi did with Bitcoin.
It sure is getting very risky developing anything related with privacy these days, if your identity is known to public than you can expect someone knocking on your door soon.

Merging different boards in this forum is a wet dream of many teleported members, but after some time I got used to the current order of things in this forum.
Few more improvements could be made but I don't want to keep repeating like a parrot and asking for the same things from admin.

If someone could fork this script for blocking threads in bitcointalk forum and make it work on altcoinstalks, this would ''fix'' many issues for me with boards:

I think OP is talking about social messaging apps like ime lab. It used telegram api but with wallet and probably DeFi integrations.. https://www.bitget.com/academy/what-is-ime-lab-lime-and-how-does-it-work
I never heard about this Lime before, I don't like that it uses telegram api and it doesn't look very good to me at all, especially knowing they have some worthless token attached to it.
For anyone who seriously wants secure and private messenger app I would recommend checking out SimpleX chat, it works both on desktop computers and mobile devices.
This is much better than Telegram and everything else with telegram api.

USDT Forum / Re: Where you can buy Usdt face to face
« on: May 15, 2024, 09:49:45 PM »
One approach to mitigate risk during in-person exchanges is to suggest withdrawing money from an ATM together to verify the authenticity of the funds. However, this method is practical for smaller amounts due to withdrawal limits at ATMs and banks. Always prioritize safety and verification in any financial transactions.
Just demand that any face to face exchange meeting is done in public and crowded place, maybe coffee shop or something similar.
It would help if there are banks and exchange offices nearby so that each bill can be checked and verified by them.
If other guys refuse to do this than I would kindly reject the deal to avoid any potential scams.

However, in order for the list to be reliable, I made an update and deleted mixers that are no longer functional, as well as Yomix, which is obviously high-risk.
It looks better now, and inactive old mixers could be added separately without images, maybe in different post for historic purposes.
I saw today in bitcointalk forum one accusation for another service Cryptomixer.io, but I didn't see any evidence and that guy didn't even download letter of guarantee ::)
It would also be useful if someone could report any new mixers that pop up in future.

But even the normal people don't want to use CDBC. They think that it is too complicated ("why should I use that when Venmo/Zelle/Cash App works just fine for me?") and most are not at all interested in trying to learn complicated things that they don't understand like what a CDBC even is - they'll just think of it as yet another money account.
I actually tried talking about CBDC with people who don't know anything about Bitcoin or crypto, and they really don't care much about it.
They think it's going to be the similar thing like with credit cards, and I am sure governments are first going to give it away for ''free'' first, and we all know everybody loves free helicopter money.
If they don't have job, no money and no food, they will probably wait in lines to get ''injected'' with CBDC crap.
Maybe they even start arresting more developers and people who reject safe and effective CBDC   :P

There was a discussion here earlier about the Coinomize Android app, do we have anyone here who has used their app for mixing, can they share their experience?
I remember installing it for testing purposes with downloaded .apk file from their website and everything worked fine, but I didn't perform any actual mixing operation back than.
There was no big difference visually compared to their official website page, but I prefer using mixers only with onion link and Tor browser for obvious reasons.

Number two: This bill was co-authored by SBF's brother. Let that sink into you for a second. It underscores why SBF deserves to rot in jail for an eternity. He does not care about crypto, but he is for "Big Government".
Did he also put his own brother in jail? :o
They are all just puppets who are only following orders, and they don't want people to have any privacy.
I think this is last chance for us to try and resist new laws that are coming, or most people will end up as slaves soon.

I think it has some privacy.  Better than using a bank (in privacy)
For example, you can pay me 200 USD without knowing my real name or bank account. The only other way to do that is buy using cash (or other crypto currency).
It actually has worse privacy than banks because it's public and everyone can see and track all your transactions on blockchain.

Unfortunately, one more mixer is out of business. They may have been the youngest and have not yet acquired a user base, but they are certainly entering a negative trend of decreasing privacy service options.
Why do you still have Tumbler and Unijoin listed when they are not available for some time?

It could be someone's (ie the operator's) personal account or something?
I don't know but it's stranger that someone continued to post, unless this is just AI generated content.
All other accounts Unijoin used are not active anymore, but scammers could always create phishing pages, so better be alert.

USDT Forum / Re: Where you can buy Usdt face to face
« on: May 14, 2024, 10:39:27 PM »
Everyone better watch out for anyone offering this in telegram with face to face trading of USDT, Bitcoin and any other coins.
I know some stories about people who got scammed with fake euro bills when exchanging USDT, this happened after they traded with same person before so they gained their trust before scamming.
Always check if money you received is genuine.

people should use DAI instead of USDT in my opinion (EU users, be careful USDT will be banned in June for the whole EU).
In same way they are planning to ban USDT in EU they can ban (and probably will ban) any other stable coins, including DAI.
I think there are also Euro based stable coins but this is all the same crap that is losing value like fiat currencies.

I understand the logic, but in my opinion in this case, using Mixtum or any Jambler based mixer would be better from a "privacy perspective", or swapping BTC for XMR and back to BTC again (but would probably be expensive to pay for the 2 swaps + network fees).
Or just use Monero directly to save on fees  ;)

Even users who do not hold usdt can be affected. I think stablecoins are among the best altcoins out there.
No they are not, they just give you the illusion of stability.
