Amazon’s Echo wants you to get rid of privacy for good

Amazon is known for its shady snooping on private recordings. Recent studies suggest that smart home devices can activate up to 19 times per day by accident. Amazon says this helps improve data accuracy, but sometimes the random voice recordings stretch up to 43 seconds. This allows strangers to listen to those recordings and share information with third-party authorities, like marketing agencies or the police.

Smart Home devices are gateways for collecting information. Echo records your daily habits, like messaging, searching, or listening to music. However, it also brings the worst aspects of smartphones and smart home devices. All of it because Echo isn’t personal, but integrated into the whole home environment.
