XRP - Ripple Forum / Re: which do you prefer Ripple or bitcoin cash ?
« on: October 05, 2018, 03:45:31 PM »
Would you choose ripple over bitcoincash ?

Yes, I would choose ripple over bitcoincash, judging by its ranking, it's an easy answer. And added to that, banks are now slowly adopting it worldwide. At first I was hesitant to invest, because bankers are benefiting from it, contrary to purpose of decentralization, why bitcoin was develop.

Soft Cap - Minimum fund required for the project/ICO to proceed. If the Softcap is not achieved, the project will not move any further and the investments will be returned to the investors.

Hard Cap - Maximum Fund required for the project/ICO. If the project raised the Hardcap, the Crowdsale will automatically close and the development process starts right away.

For instance, let's see VRT world, This ICO has a soft cap around 3.5 million and a hard cap of 16 million. This means that if the project does not attain 3.5 million it will not proceed and also if it reaches 16 million no more can be contributed.

Thanks, clearly explained and concise.

The Electroneum coin is the official token of a mobile-based platform. It’s a smartphone application, essentially. Been hodling Electroneum (ETN) since the ICO. Hoping that it will reach back its all time high price. It's still a good way to buy more since the price is still low.

Cardano Forum / Re: Are you an investor in Cardano?
« on: September 23, 2018, 09:59:43 PM »
If yes, then why do you invest in Cardano?

I bought some Cardano, what i like about cardano is their staking option if you have downloaded their daedelus wallet. Passive income.

XRP - Ripple Forum / Re: what will you do if you have ripple?
« on: September 23, 2018, 09:58:00 PM »
What if you have ripple and then the dip comes, and the price becomes more worst, can you manage to hold it or sell?
What is your reason if you hold it or if you will going to sell it at dip moment?

I've been wondering to buy ripple or not today, since it has gone up today. I wonder how high could it get.

Cardano Forum / Re: Best wallet for holding cardano
« on: September 17, 2018, 05:11:31 PM »
Cardano is a PoS coin, so staking will eventually come. Last ETA I saw was Q2 2018.

You'll have to possibilities to earn reward :

1. Running a node/staking pool yourself (running a machine 24 hours) to receive ADA. [Need computer + always on + node install + XXXXX amount of ADA]

2. Delegating your stake through the wallet to another staking pool so you will not have to keep your computer online. [you can do it with any amount of ADA, you don't need to keep your PC running]

Hope it's clear. For the when, check the roadmap: https://cardanoroadmap.com

Thanks for sharing and explaining on how the staking works and how to do it.

we can see that the cardano feature is very good, and this cardano can inhibit large energy expenditure.

Proof of stake is what led me to get into this coin. Just by keeping your coins in the wallet you get to earn coins as time goes by

BITCOIN appears to be back on the rise today, as recent charts show a steady increase across most cryptocurrencies. The market is working to recover after the digital token saw a sharp drop among several hacks in South Korea.

Cryptocurrency traders saw a small rise in price today, with bitcoin leading the charge back into positive results. The cryptocurrency market has been recovering from a significant sell-off period that saw prices drop by more than a third in June. Bitcoin has jumped up 0.67 percent to trade at $6,787.78 as of 7.30pm.

Will BTC recover?

As of this writing BTC is at $6,397.56. I do hope that prices will go up again. Many said that bitcoin is a bubble, bitcoin died 300+ times now. Blockchain technology is here to stay.

Understanding Trading Demographics
Market analysts for the social investing network and multi-asset brokerage, Etoro, have conducted a research of their vast user base to help the company better understand exactly who are bitcoin and cryptocurrency investors. Looking at data from March 2017 to February 2018, they surveyed the public profiles of those investing in cryptocurrencies using their systems, and extracted demographic insights from age to gender to job sector.

One interesting point emerging from the data is that an absolute majority of traders are new in the business with regards to having any investing experience. A whopping 81.96% are at the Novice level, 10.66% are defined as Intermediate level, and just 7.38% qualify as having an Advanced level of experience in the market.

What is the reason we have very less female on trading?

I might belong to the novice level. This is quite new to us, it will take time to have massive adoption of the technology.

A recent report published by cryptocurrency research firm Diar suggests that Bitcoin’s Lightning Network, a second-layer solution touted as the answer to the cryptocurrency’s scalability problem, is still unsuitable for large payments.

According to the report, the network only ensures a 100 percent success rate for payments of $0.03 or less. The chance of successfully sending payments drops as the amount increases, to the point there’s only a 51% chance of being able to send $5.52. Payments of $306 or more only have 1% success rate.

Diar’s research adds that the number of channels on the network has been steadily growing, but that its efficiency hasn’t. As CCN covered, the Lightning Network crossed 1,000 mainnet payment channels back in February, and now has over 5,050.

According to The Next Web, Diar’s data was sourced from Reddit user YeOldDoc, who used available data from Lnmainnet.gaben.win to get to the results. According to the website’s data, the Lightning Network currently has 2,326 nodes, and a total capacity of $142,000.
Bitcoin’s Lightning Network

The Lightning Network is a second-layer solution that allows bitcoiners to send micropayments to one another nearly instantly, while paying negligible fees. The network works by creating so-called payment channels between nodes.

These channels see two nodes “agree” to hold a specific amount of bitcoin on the channel, which both parties can then use to transact as much as they want to using the funds within it. The transactions registered on the blockchain are the ones that open and close the channel.

I still believe that we are still in the infancy stage of bitcoin or the blockchain technology. It's like the 1995 of the internet era. But as we go along their will be innovations and improvements with the technology

Developer Jonathan Wheeler is at an impasse of sorts.

The former bank employee turned developer doesn't want to say too much about his newest project, an effort he believes could soon help people living under one of the world's most oppressive monetary regimes. That's because he needs others to help him with his mission – getting bitcoin in the hands of Venezuelan citizens by way of a massive mobile airdrop.

The problem is that spilling too much intel could put those he's working with in danger.

The Venezuela government routinely arrests people with deviating political opinions and has even gone as far as to ban technologies citizens have used to circumvent its censorship. That's not to mention the fact that Venezuela's government has already launched its own cryptocurrency, the petro, which it's painted as key to its economic revival.

Still, Wheeler is set on ditching efforts to try and help the country by way of political change. Instead, he wants to use bitcoin to quell an economic crisis so severe people are finding it difficult to pay for necessities (food is in such short supply, in fact, the majority of the population is losing weight).

And he's eager to share that the project is no longer just a lofty ambition sketched out on Medium, but that it has some legs – supporting a growing team developing a mobile app called Azul, which he hopes, by the end of the year, will be enough to draw millions in donations.

Wheeler told CoinDesk:

"To give it the greatest likelihood of success, it has to be done en masse. We're trying to make this a large-scale collaborative mission to help people suffering from financial tyranny."

I've seen and heard it the news. I can only imagine how hard it would be for people in Valenzuela living under such conditions.
