😂 Noob question yeah!, but thats what a dude asked me this evening, he's a newbie though, he joined crypto late January this year (2024), I wasnt the one who introduced crypto to him, but he approached me one time in February, and I assisted him on buying his first bitcoin, and since then, he's been investing on his own.

But I was surprised when he asked me if there was still going to be a bull run this year, I paused for a while cus I didn't know what to answer him, I've never discussed anything concerning or patterning to bull run with him before, so I was a kind of puzzled when he asked me that.

Later on, I simply told him I don't know, that I can't predict the market, but then, I could notice he wasn't satisfied with that answer, he probably expected me to say "yes", as a way for him to reassure himself of his expections, but then again, I couldn't lie to him.

I am as well putting out the same question out here for the  community, is there still going to be a bull run this year? Or should we just pack our bags and go home? 😬😁

We are not going home...because we are already home! I can understand why you are hesitant to tell 'YES" to that guy's inquiry for the possibility of a bull run and it is because even if we can see some precedents in the history of Bitcoin this is a very unpredictable asset and anything can happen into the future. Based on what I know, the real bull run will be happening after the halving and not before it. So the next concern is whether the bull run we just witnessed before the halving is already the one or should we wait for another one. Now, humans as we are, it would be so difficult to predict the future and that is why whatever we are thinking can just be speculations, at best. the best thing to do then is to continually invest with Bitcoin most especially if there is a dip in the market and just wait and see for what may come.

Even if that has asked me the same question I will still have an unofficial answer to that since we are here speculating on prices and there is really no accurate answer to that. It could be that this year is just side way or it could have some slight rally or what but yeah I can relate to you here. Though there's a high possibility but who knows right?

After this correction, the price would go up again, and then should it be counted as a bull run? This is a vague question IMO since the market is volatile. But if your friend thinks that is there parabolic price movement like the pre-2017 era? Then the answer would probably be no. The higher the market cap / the price, the lower the volatility, to the point that it looks flat on the logarithmic scale.

I genuinely believe we're yet to see the best of the bull market. There's probably still an AI run and an NFT rally to come

Bitcoin hit ATH just a few weeks ago.

In the last 12 months:
SOL is more than 700% up.
ETH is 100%
BTC is about 130%

Many shitcoins about 1000% and more!!

Will the bull run continue? most likely, this is probably a good buying opportunity

Saying there is going to be a bull run is giving validation someone is not sure about. The way the market is right now, believe me I'm loss with the next thing because the Bitcoin is not doing correction when it's due and it's not pumping either but for now I'm not optimistic about it coming down for correction, maybe after that we will see a big storm by surprise.

If we are to go by the previous assumptions of bull run, I think we will see bull run by 2025, we are still early in this and perhaps we will see new trend coming out around the corners like we did back then and not all this meme wana be quick gains.

I'm not sure you don't think there will be a bull run in Bitcoin. Because, in reality, the market's downward price movement does not indicate the beginning of a bear market. To be honest, based on my market analysis, the current bull run in Bitcoin is only the beginning. Also, I expected there to be a downward trend before the price exploded. So, if I were in your situation, I would say yes to him and explain why.

No, it's still too early to pack our bags because we are already in middle of the bull market and it's just the beginning of this bull run. 2024-2025 are going to be very bullish years for crypto currencies, especially for Bitcoin. The market had to have some corrections overtime as without corrections the market won't work.

Bitcoin hasn't yet reached $80k value and it's too early to even think about packing the bags because when the market gets intensity, we can expect Bitcoin crossing $100k value. If we check the history of Bitcoin then we can understand that it's too early to expect the peak price of Bitcoin at current times because history shows us that Bitcoin reaches its best values in October to December of previous bull runs.

Now keeping that in our mind, we can expect Bitcoin to do something similar in this bull run as well. This bull run is going to be much more intense than the previous bull runs because in this bull run huge investment companies have launched their ETFs and they will do their best to make Bitcoin reach the top values.

Lol 😂, very well said bud, unfortunately, as long as the cryptocurrency market is open for everyone 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, we can never do away with people who will invest a hundred dollar today and expect to cash out a hundred thousand dollars tomorrow, seeing that things like this used to happen in the early day of bitcoin and the crypto market at large, most especially with altcoins, people think it's still possible for such to happen even now that the market have become more matured, especially when ever they hear or learn that Bitcoin halving is approaching, some people with experience in the market actually do not invest in bitcoin until halving is close, because based on previous circles, bitcoin always pumps sometime after halving lol,  and when sometime, the pump seems like it's not happening, they begin to ask questions like I was asked 😂.

Anyways, we never can get rid of such people from the market, it absolutely normal thing if you ask me.

Yeah, I also believe that the crypto market is overheating and that there needs to be a strong and long enough correction to re-accumulate before entering the main bullrun. I consider the BTC's journey from $16K to $73K to be just a recovery phase, not growth. If the market ends the bullrun right now, it will not be able to continue to attract investor attention and the crypto market will be destroyed or go into a prolonged downturn.

The community often has extreme emotions: excessive greed in Q1 after BTC Spot ETFs and excessive fear when BTC has been sideways for the past few weeks. Skepticism is running rampant in the market but it only comes to inexperienced investors. Experienced investors will understand that a correction is necessary at this time, and the rational action would have to be to buy instead of sell.

I still maintain my expectation that BTC will reach $150K-170K in 2025. In the worst case, that could come in Q4 2024 and we will see this cycle end a bit earlier than previous cycles.

Why I will be skeptical is that the arrangement has changed. Before now, a new ATH is met after the halving but this time around, a new ATH was seen before the halving which is a very good sign of bull run. I don't know whether to say that the bull run has already started or not.

There's no spelt out answer to the questionair, but with experience you should know that this dip we are seeing is the one that is always seen after halving before the crazy bull run. So, there will be bull run.

73666 > 59300 is a --19.50 % drop, a 20% one from the ATH means the end of a bull market if we go by standard definitions.

We jumped 140% in conditions not so good, with high-interest rates, with no clear path, just because of ETFs which most people didn't even use, the block reward supply cut is already offset in $ value since the price is more than double so there is no reduction in the offer, I think we did pretty good, but it's not really the time of cheap money everywhere, my bets for another growth (sizeable one) are for august with monetary policies change, both in the US and EU.
