Indeed. One of the problem for long term investment is "there is a possibility of some coins to die off". So, to minimize the risk, I just choose top 15 listed coins on exchanges for long term investment.

I am now in deep thinking if a long-term investment is worth for my money. I have been in the crypto world for less than a year and my investment was not able to give me any single profit. When I first come in I invested immediately and hold it but until now I never see my capital increase. My money is not in the move it's just sleeping in the exchange. Cannot roll it over to increase because it decreases its value, every month my capital decreases and from the time I invested its more than 80% loss. Maybe, longterm investment is only for those who are not real investors because a real investor would always opt to see the money moves in the market.

2018 is a hard year for crypto. I guess you started to participate in crypto business in the beginning year of 2018. Not only you bro, all investors and I also have the same problem like you. I invested in some coins but still get no profits till now. Be patient bro, I suggest you to keep your investment and never sell it without right consideration.

Learning each coin before buying is a must. But the fact is that many people here are busy asking about what coins are potential and doing without a knowledge base. This is so bad.

I'm trying to go for long term investment approach, got some dogecoins, 1 litecoin and 100 peercoin, since everything is kinda cheap right now. I do prefer alt coins to bitcoin and ether tokens, since bitcoin is expensive to transact for micro stuff, and tokens appear to be risky. So far holding dogecoins worked for me for sure.

I think holding in the long run is also a good thing, we can get better profits, because for us it's also a good way we can make lots of money

I definitely agree with what you say, if you hold on to a wrong coin when the release of the coin the price might surge but will drop drastically after a while so not every coin is suitable for long term investment hold. After the coin is release the most important thing is whether the team is able to follow their roadmap and make new hype.

I believed long term is good due to its volatile characteristics and we might be losing too much if we invest it in day trading and the the crypto we invested will drops automatically.

I agreed long term investment in cryptocurrency market for long run way its safe and can get better profits and high growth of money in coming future. But we need to think that every coin is not good for holding and long term investment. I hold many altcoin like XRP, TRON, Dogecoin, and etherium for long term investment and waiting for the best time their growth.

The reason why the ling investment, Because crypto is still high volatile. Maybe at the future , the price is more stable we can choose short term.

I prefer alt coin to bitcoin and ether tokens, because bitcoin is expensive for transactions for micro goods, and tokens seem risky. So far holding dogecoin works for me for sure. I try to approach a long-term investment, get some dogecoin, because everything is rather cheap nowadays.

I can get hurt from daily trades because of the line i'm working, i can't follow the price growths daily. So i prefer HODLing and steady earnings.

Yes, right, we really have to choose which coins we will invest in the long run. we should not choose the wrong coin, we must do research correctly to determine the coin is good and worth investing.

I could not have said it any better. Holding a coin or token is also my other way of supporting a project. With more holders and a good price, devs can have more time on the product development.
